Watch! Interview: MME Chief Engineer Donna Dickson

I want to see if we can get a custom drive mode option. Doesn't even need super granular control, I'd just love to set a blend between Engage and Unbridle

How often do you plan on using your NACS adapter?

No idea, I'm still running off my free EA credits :P But really, I don't really plan to use them much until the longer cable V4 stations appear. However there is a SC by my dad's place that's way more convenient than driving 20 minutes to the nearest Walmart for the EA stations with only a few...

Ford Pass app no longer knows if my car is charging.

Thanks, felt like I turned everything back on but will have to double check things on my next drive

Ford Pass app no longer knows if my car is charging.

Didn't see this anywhere else. Past few weeks the app (android) no longer can tell when my car is charging. Really annoying because it finally was giving me notifications again. I was testing out the data privacy settings after all that recent news but from what I can tell everything needed...

    So many MME’s!

They've handled all my other work great (updates, tsbs, etc), just this specific recall they were very uninformed as of ~5-6 weeks ago. From what you said seems like they got the memo and you're probably set.

    So many MME’s!

This was talking with actual service folks at the time, not just the scheduler on the phone, hopefully they finally got whatever training they needed but it was disappointing to say the least.

    So many MME’s!

Ha, that's where I was a month ago for service. Their inventory started piling up with the loss of the tax credit (and before the price drop) and yeah, they really aren't trying that hard to move them. Also side note: while they've been decent for me in the past, double check their work on the...

US to probe Texas fatal crash that may have involved Ford partially automated driving system

There's been at least 2 fatal accidents like this in my area, night time, stalled car middle of the road with no lights on. It's really sad, but if you're not in a we'll lit area it's near impossible for a human to avoid at highway speeds.

    Mach E wave

🤙, still do, used to get many responses, not so much the past year

    Unbridled Experience

You don't have to sell me on the GT ;) this thing was (V8 rumble aside) so much more fun to take to the track school than my old mustang. Given what was on the market at the time I'm still quite happy.

    Unbridled Experience

As I recall, the GT trim originally wasn't supposed to be a thing. They did what they could with a lot of common parts (eg the battery system). I think they should have been a lot more forthcoming with the limitations, but the alternate was probably no GT until now ish with a refined battery system.

    Unbridled Experience

I believe this mode also disables regenerative braking and traction control (but maybe that can turn back on? Need to confirm this before I hit the track again). It is a "track" mode, the problem is that it does limit the performance for perhaps not that much extra endurance. It definitely isn't...

Spring is here. What will you do with your Mach E?

Pondering another track school day, would like to see how it does when it's not pushing 100 degrees outside :P

    Rivian R2 Reveal w/ R3 and R3X Surprises! $45K, 0-60 >3 seconds, 300+ miles range, NACS port, 4695 batteries

I too placed a reservation, but I'm supremely disappointed there was no truck announcement. R2 suv would make a great direct replacement but I strongly suspect I'll end up picking up a used Maverick or lightning and have 2 vehicles again.

The "problem" with EVs ...is the DEALERS

In the other direction, I found an XLT Standard range Lightning over the weekend that (according to the dealer's crazy, supposedly stacking, rebates) would have cost $31k out the door. I'd have been on a plane this morning to pick it up if that was true. :)

I wonder if this will become a thing (Tesla's blocking non-Teslas)

Ah, I'd missed they switched from air cooled to liquid back with the V3 stations. Guess the ball is on Tesla now to add longer cables to future station designs (although I doubt that'll happen soon)

I wonder if this will become a thing (Tesla's blocking non-Teslas)

I know it would make it fairly clunky but I'm amazed the official adapter didn't have some kind of extension cable.

Are all the other Job 2, 2021 GT's still stuck on Powerup 6.6?

If by stuck, you mean auto updates have been disabled so my instrument panel doesn't get the design change, then yes ;) but I haven't seen higher than 6.5 offered aside from a priority update queued.

BlueCruise "not available for your vehicle"

Specifically ordered my GT without it. Package is/was: "Ford Co-Pilot360™ Active 2.0 and BlueCruise (hands-free driving)" The window sticker (assuming you have that) would say which packages are on it. Here's the 2022 order guide with the options...
