We want something we can tow so...no EV on the market today is flat towable (certain FWD ones--e.g. Bolt--are dolly towable, had one).
Thus the next vehicle after the Mach-E is very likely to be an Escape PHEV. If they made a FWD BEV Maverick it would be that, or if they brought over the new...
Well clearly there is a remedy available as many many people have had the recall performed already (myself included).
Ford is a large company paperwork takes time.
Call your dealer you may be surprised.
My setup pretty much still looks like this:
Been that way since 2013 (so, of course, now it has some more dust and cobwebs on it). The Clipper Creek (middle), however, lives in the back of the Mach-E with a J1772 extension cord.
Ah yeah at some point the adapter on the JuiceBox plug melted...
Today is the 3 week mark for my service (recalls done waiting on parts for something else). The dealer has pretty much called me daily even if it is just to say "The car isn't ready yet".
My loaner is limited to 550 miles total--I was told that if I get close to that bring it in and they'll...
My car is currently at the dealership. Tomorrow marks the three week mark it has been there. They are currently waiting on parts for the collision alert (DSM module)
Took it in for all the recalls (including HVBJB) and the pre-collision alert going off in a very specific circumstance (it goes...
I've been driving in 1-P now for 6 years (the Bolt prior to the Mach-E also had a 1-P mode) so I'm quite used to it and have had no issues switching back and forth between vehicles.
I do cringe a little driving an ICE around thinking about all that wasted energy when braking...
Have DCFC'd less than a dozen times. Longer trips are in the RV.
Have done a couple trips where I drove the RV and the wife drove the Mach-E. Only 1 of those involved DCFC.
Have to say you can go a loong way in the RWD CA Rt1 on a road trip before needing a charge.
Yeah if the dash doesn't say "Hands Free" you don't have BC.
I also have a CR1 and declined to pay for BC. Even though, when you turn on cruise, you still get the BC popup warning you about things I don't see hands free...I remain in blue bubble mode (which is hands on).
Note that in blue...
90% on my Mach-E and I charge it like an ICE: I charge it when it needs to be charged (usually when <60% or so). Thus it isn't plugged in all the time. Typically plugged in twice a week, more frequently in winter.
My last EV (Bolt) I would leave in "Hilltop reserve" (which, I believe was...
Car clicks all the time. When you plug in, when you unplug, when you walk by, when you look at it strange, when a squirrel walks by, for whatever reason...it just makes noise...
Wow! I'm still using my JB unit that I got in...2014. Its worked flawlessly for almost 10 years now (no WiFi, no software updates...)
Darn it, now I've Jinx'ed it.
