I paid the $600/3yr because of the hype of BC 1.4 coming SOON. Still not here
I have 83000 miles on my 21 and will drive it for another 2 yrs and then it's likely gonna get traded off.
I like the car, I do not like the way Ford has handled the OTA process at all. Slow, buggy and...
OK, here's the scoop. Had the regular service done today and asked them to check the charge port. Was told it was not a serviceable part and needed replaced, under warranty (thankfully). They will order part and then we can schedule time to install it.
Part cost $880
Labor $1700
:eek::eek:
I noticed this as I was about to DCFC. The right pin seems to be missing a cap or something. The last time I used a DCFC was several weeks ago but it was dark so I didn't notice if it was gone then or not.
Anyway, I'm on a trip to Baltimore from Knoxville and have fast charged several times and...
I don't commute (retired).....however, I do travel to Knoxville regularly and that is 150 miles round trip plus whatever running around we do while there. I have the extended range all wheel drive premium. I make that trip with a 90% charge and get home with plenty of range left....30-60 miles...
I chose Tesla because if I were to swap today it would be a Model S.
I'm actually 2+ years away from trading so we'll have to see what the EV world looks like then.
Love Ford and have owned MANY over the years. I have been disappointed with many aspects of the Mach E. Software updates, bugs...
Not trying to be an a$$hole here..........but why does it matter to people that Tesla or any other EV charge location knows who is charging? We gave up total anonymity years ago when we adopted home PCs and put smart phones in our pockets and started using credit cards for all transactions...
Not concerned about getting the monthly fee refunded, I understand it can't be. I am happy you can come and go as necessary and not keep getting that fee when not using the service.
EA is $7mo now but you can cancel and restart anytime and it requires a CC and a $$ amount that reloads automatically.
Tesla is $13mo but I don't know if you can cancel and restart whenever you want like EA or is it requires an auto reload 🤷‍♂️
I checked random Tesla sites to see what the cost was and it is all over the place. I've seen it as high as $1+. With a $13mo subscription it gets cheaper but I have not pulled the trigger on that yet so I don't know the discount.
In my area, Knoxville Tesla and EA are pretty comparable.
Well, after I used my initial free charging it was cheaper to get an EA account. It was $4mo and gave a good discount. Then Ford introduced the BOCN but it was $5mo. So, I just never got on that wagon. Now that the EA monthly fee has gone up it may be time to reconsider.
Now, if Tesla and EA...
