Anyone know what the 2024 GT upgrade gets you?

Thatā€™s kind of what I meant, the GTs will trap close to each other, but, I bet the ETs will be closer than the Teslas, maybe 3-4 tenths difference. Hopefully. And no, got our $100 deposit back because the SS isnā€™t arriving soon enough and the EV resale value ship has long since cosplayed the...

Anyone know what the 2024 GT upgrade gets you?

Probably spot on. However, Iā€™ll say this - the reg Tesla Model Y dual motor runs trap speeds virtually identical to the Y Perf. because the Perf is allowed to launch harder, yet only sustain a similar HP level for the duration of the run. So, the Perf can trap 114-115mph on an 11.8-12.0 run...

Anyone know what the 2024 GT upgrade gets you?

Hello again all! About. Fing. Time. Seriously, those GT performance ā€œupgradeā€ numbers are almost exactly what we were predicting the GTs shouldrun way back before ā€œ5 sec performance limitā€ was a Google search. Also, theyā€™re almost exactly what your average Model Y Performance that can now be...

    Lucid Gravity Debut

Just look at all the Air range tests and deduct a bit for the extra frontal area/weight. Itā€™ll do just fine range wise. Likely go further than your bladder. šŸ˜‰

    Lucid Gravity Debut

The Gravity is what Lucid needs right now. Theyā€™ve already been cutting losses per car from $500K to near $100K and new production efficiencies are cutting it further. That said, the Air is a sedan and those just donā€™t sell in huge numbers any longer. They have $6.8B cash on hand and the Saudi...

Stainless steel brake lines installed review šŸ˜ƒ

I get it, no harm in trying something and SS lines almost never make brakes feel ā€œworseā€. As far as pad compound recommendations, I just havenā€™t really looked tbh. Anything from a reputable maker in a semi-metallic street performance category would probably be good. Stoptech, EBC, Hawk etc. prob...

Stainless steel brake lines installed review šŸ˜ƒ

Hmm. I have to say, because the MME brake pedal is decoupled from the hydraulic circuit youā€™d prob get better braking ā€œfeedback, initial bite or whateverā€ youā€™re seeking from going to a set of street performance non-ceramic compound pads. Those 4-piston front Brembos are just asking for a...

    Focus RS Rims

The standard RS wheels were cast and the optional ones forged, right? Even so, Iā€™d bet they arenā€™t rated to take the MME 5000lb empty and 6000lb loaded weight. But, thatā€™s just my opinion, not backed up by data.

New incentives for Mach-E announced šŸ’°

Best car Iā€™ve owned in 31 years of car ownership. So good that I couldnā€™t part with it for a ā€˜19 Shelby GT350 last year.

The GT never had a 5 second limit

4Xs donā€™t have limiting like the GTs to speak of other than Fordā€™s soft launch tuning that slightly handicaps their 0-30mph numbers (should run a 1.8-1.9 but usually Dragy has them at 2.1-2.2 with high SOC and good temps). With a harder launch strategy the 4X could hit 4.0-4.2 0-60s instead of...

Tesla cuts price of Model 3 & Model Y again!

Are you confusing CarMax with Carvana? Methinks you are.

Tesla cuts price of Model 3 & Model Y again!

Which brings up a pertinent quote from Dr. Ian Malcolm: Teslas are already being totaled for relatively mild accidents because of their ā€œawesomeā€ gigacastings that arenā€™t repairable in a conventional manner. ā€œOEMsā€, by which you really mean Legacy Automakers, could have been doing the same for...

Tesla cuts price of Model 3 & Model Y again!

Yes, I have. I know. The initial ramp has been slow and fraught with challenges. However. Battery facilities will be coming on line in the near future and additional EV prod lines as well. Things often look the very best for first movers just as theyā€™re about to get very challenging, right?

Tesla cuts price of Model 3 & Model Y again!

I said only so far. Read. Comprehend. Weā€™re not there yet obviously. Only so far to drop though.

Tesla cuts price of Model 3 & Model Y again!

Only so far for $$$ to drop before the others will be able to sue Tesla for ā€œdumpingā€ product. Not there yet, but, canā€™t go down to 0 either. It just reeks of desperation if you ask me. Dude is legit worried. And he should be.

4 days with 2023 Tesla Model Y in Portland

All weā€™ve driven have been ā€˜23s. The 3 had leaking driver window seal so we took it back. The Y didnā€™t leak water but it did leak air as evidenced by the whistling noise. Whatever, they just have bad build quality. Still.

4 days with 2023 Tesla Model Y in Portland

You forgot phantom ADAS braking events and horrible window seals due to the inept seal design for the frameless side glass. And every Y weā€™ve sampled rides like an oxcart even on our good roads. Otherwise, spot on. Oh yeah, the audio system has good fidelity and extended low end response, Iā€™ll...

Analysis: Tesla's rivals scrap for thin slices of US EV sales

Basic macroeconomics. And, even with monster $$$ drops the X and S sell in vanishingly low numbers compared to a few years ago. Gee, wonder why. Oh, because plenty of luxury competitors now that donā€™t look 10-12 years old. Just wait until the Big 3 (well Ford and GM at least, no idea wtf...

Should I try to force HVBJB to fail?

Imo, drive it in ā€œfull sendā€ mode as often as possible, especially after DCFC sessions, as stated above. Get a new one and then cross fingers. Our 4X has been fine so far since our HVBJB replacement in December ā€˜22. I still do Dragy runs and accelerate at WOT frequently.
