Hi all - for various reasons, I've finally cancelled my MME reservation. Good luck to everyone, and I'll certainly be looking in envy when we see them on the road from next year. Another thing for the UK reservation holders to look out for is the possible rollover of the EU-Mexican trade deal...
  2. Jumping ship, i think.

Presumably, you're referring to the qualification of the PiCG (capped at £50k) rather than the sale value? Tesla takes the approach that additional options don't affect PiCG qualification, but you're right to check this with Polestar. I like the Polestar 2 too, but the value proposition...
  3. Jumping ship, i think.

Polestar 2 on the road price of £49,900 doesn't include PiCG of £3k, so you're looking at increase of £7k to your original BEV budget. If you're lucky, you might also qualify for the £6k trade-in, but suspect you'll need to own the banger for more than a few months. Hopefully find out more on...

I'm still here too, but must admit I'm close to cancelling my MME reservation. My current lease expires late this year, so the delayed MME delivery doesn't work for me, unless Jaguar agree to an extension. There are a number of compelling EVs being launched next year, but the MME no longer has...
  5. 2022 Fisker Ocean anyone?

I agree the Ocean is a great option. Fisker is a long way to bringing the car to market, but is well worth the risk of losing $25 of a $250 reservation in my opinion (I placed my reservation early January).
  6. Audi Q4 e-tron, starting at 45K

For what it's worth, I had the software update on my I Pace in January, and range increase is more like 10% - 15%. In mild winter conditions, would typically look at 190 mile range, but now it's 210 - 220 miles. Was achieving 240 miles in ideal conditions, but now expect 270ish miles. My lease...
  7. Real World range testing reveals differences between stated/print "EPA ranges" for most vehicles.

Since I had the software update in early January, I would say I've experienced a range increase of 25 - 30 miles (190 up to 220 miles in mild winter conditions). I expect to achieve 270 miles in summer, up from 240 previously.
  8. UK Pricing Lowered For RWD Extended Range Mach-E, Qualifying Some Configurations For Tax Credit

I agree the difference between base and option is blurred, and HMRC haven't updated their guidance since the £50k threshold was introduced last month. However, I'm confident Tesla have done their homework, so a model change from SR to LR is considered a change in base price, whereas the likes of...
  9. UK Pricing Lowered For RWD Extended Range Mach-E, Qualifying Some Configurations For Tax Credit

I'm pretty sure the £50k PICG threshold applies to RRP before any options are added. Tesla M3 LR qualifies no matter what options you add, any of which would take the RRP over £50k.
  10. UK Tax Incentives to continue on EVs to 2022/23

This defines the car price that the grant is deducted from, which may not be the same as the car price used to test against the £50k limit. I couldn't find any updated government guidance on this, but a number of publications have stated the £50k limit applies to the list price, excluding...
  11. UK Tax Incentives to continue on EVs to 2022/23

Tesla has actually reduced the price of M3 LR by £500 so it still qualifies for the rebate. It was £47000 after rebate prior to the reduction in rebate from £3500 to £3000.
  12. UK Tax Incentives to continue on EVs to 2022/23

We have only reserved a car at this point, so won't be considered an order prior to the change in rebate. I think this means the reduced rebate up to £50k will apply. I too will reconsider my options if Ford can't reduce the price of the ER RWD to £50k. Tesla LR becomes far more appealing if...
  13. What to believe!? UK Customers

The estimared 370 mile range for the ER RWD is the WLTP test, whereas the ranges quoted on the linked webpage are EPA estimates. The approx. 20% difference between EPA and WLTP is quite normal, with EPA figures being a closer fit to real world. I wouldn't expect the car manufacturer to know too...
  14. Excellent Q&A with Ford/Mach-E Electric Vehicle Engineer

I agree it infers no reserve/buffer. Alternatively, the quoted battery size is net capacity after the buffer, but I would've thought Ford would have stated this clearly, much like VW are doing with ID.3. The 16.5kWh/100km or 3.75 miles/kWh are WLTP numbers, so not sure you can apply to EPA range.
  15. Excellent Q&A with Ford/Mach-E Electric Vehicle Engineer

I care because a smaller battery pack for the same range means cheaper and faster (probably) charging. Ford have already published estimated average consumption on their pre-order page (UK link below). Using LR RWD as an example, average consumption of 16.5kWh/100km equates to 26.5485kWh/100ml...
  16. Range and efficiency of the competition

The estimated combined energy consumption quoted by Ford implies the stated battery capacity is net of any buffer (or no buffer at all). E.g. LR RWD has estimated consumption of 16.5 kWh/100km (WLTP) so 98.8/16.5 x 0.621371 x 100 = 372.07, where 0.621371 is km to miles, and estimated range of LR...
