How have you never used L3 DCFC?

MME GTPE is my semi-daily commuter car, use other ICE cars for longer trips. They're simply more comfortable Volvos for the long hauls that also handle the cold and snow better, and then also don't have to deal with sparse charging network (hopefully Tesla will help with that soon). And to...

Dealer said I don't need hvbjb

Got mine replaced last week under the recall. Called dealer, parts came in 4 days later, fixed in 2 days. No issues or complaints from dealer. Guess it depends on the dealer competency. FYI, was my original HVBJB on a 21 GTPE, never had any failures, but no questions asked by dealer...

Recall 23S56 - HVBJB Replacement / Powertrain Software Update

Update... Just got the GTPE back today, everything fixed under the recall. Dealer said no issues with the HVBJB replacement and module updates, just a little time consuming with having to drop battery assembly safely. Dropped off on Wednesday morning, car done late this afternoon (Friday)...

Recall 23S56 - HVBJB Replacement / Powertrain Software Update

Yes, never replaced HVBJB, at 20k miles since Oct '21, never had issue. Full throttle semi frequently, though rarely fast charge. Dealer said plan a full day to replace and update the other modules, though would likely be done sooner.

Recall 23S56 - HVBJB Replacement / Powertrain Software Update

Thanks for the post, called my dealer this morning and take my '21 GTPE in next Wednesday. Hadn't received the actual 2nd letter yet stating parts available.

    Alarm going off in garage

Mine did that a few times late last summer in my garage in the middle of the night. Turns out there was a lanternfly that got inside the car that was setting off the motion sensor. Haven't had it happen since he was "removed". (not the actual one)

    Paint chips?

They do seem to be more chip prone than some previous cars I've owned, I think a combination of the shape of the car, aerodynamics, and the "eco friendlier" paint that all manufacturers have been forced to use that is thinner and doesn't adhere as well to the base material. No, Ford won't fix...

    Mach-E vs 2024 Polestar 3

At least they copied the MME screens. Love my 2 Volvos, but have yet to be impressed with any of the new Polestar cousins. Drove a Polestar 2, and as mentioned above, software buggy and slow, uninspired driving feedback and performance. Plus closest Polestar "dealer/service center" is 90 min...

Is this what I have to look forward with owning a Mach-E?

I've had my GTPE for just about a year, 10k miles. No major issues, took it to dealer for the recall software "fix" a few weeks ago (oddly I also got it via an OTA this week) and had a bad tire pressure sensor. As others said, it has it's quirks and it's known limitations, but nothing that has...

What is the best way to get rid of brake dust?

Sonax wheel cleaner Plus is all I use on all my cars. A bit pricey (I actually just bought the 170oz size for $99 to refill the spray bottle size). Will still need to use a soft brush to get it all, but no scrubbing. I’ve tried a bunch of others but this is the best by far. At least you have...

Who IS NOT having problems with their brand new Mach-e? 2021/ 2022

7,500 miles in since October '21 on my GTPE. Only one minor issue, bad TPMS sensor about a week after delivery. Finally got around to replacing it last weekend, kept waiting to take it in to the dealer for something else, since it was more of just an annoyance as opposed to a problem, but no...

TPM fault - "tire pressure monitor fault"

FYI, finally took my car into the dealer to have this checked on Saturday; was waiting until I had more than one thing for them to look at since it can take up to 2 weeks for an appointment (also had them do the software update for the "contactor recall"). It was indeed a bad TPMS sensor in...

    Longest wait times?

2 years from initial reservation to delivery for my GTPE, so have patience ;) . But about 3.5 months between actual order and delivery (6/30/21 - 10/15/21), if that helps. Included a 2 week chip hold. Don't be afraid to annoy your dealer for status. They don't have anything else to do with...

    Who Uses the Parking Brake?

Agree 100%. Was always taught before turning off any car, to leave foot on brake, then engage parking brake, then turn off ignition. As mentioned above it prevents unnecessary strain on a traditional automatic transmission (and never trust a manual transmission "in gear"...I have 2 stories of...

    Broken Wireless Charger?

My Pixel 4XL gets very hot on the wireless charger if AA is running Waze or Google maps, and usually only slows the phone battery drain as opposed to actually charging it. So you're not alone. I did notice if I take the case off the phone and/or not running any GPS apps it seems to do better...

    Painting your tires white?

Go for it. I do like white lettering on muscle car tires. Not sure about the whole white sidewall thing though.

    T

Someone where I work just picked up an EV6 (non-GT), and must say it does look really good in-person (inside and out). Not enough to make me trade-in my GTPE yet, but good to see some great looking and practical EVs making their way into the real world, and hopefully forces Ford to make the...

    Final Steps to BlueCruise Email

Glad to see you're all finally getting what you paid for ;). Though as a GTPE owner who's had BC enabled since October delivery, I would give BC a "meh" rating. It's there, it works as advertised, limited in availability and functionality. Even when it is available in my driving, I find myself...

No all season tire option with GT performance edition

I just leave mine sit in the garage when it's below 40 or snow on the ground here in PA, though I have driven it in some cold sub 40 degree mornings with warm afternoons. Fortunately I have a Volvo for winter, and honestly, if I had to trade it in to get the GTPE, I probably wouldn't have...
