Hey everyone, Merchy here! So last night out of the blue I've started to hear thus clicking noise as I'm going highway speeds. I've recorded the sound as I'm traveling to 70mph. I been doing research as to what's causing the noise and found various answers. But before I go and take it in to ford...
I recently bought a car scanner for my Mach-e FE because I want to keep an eye on 12v battery and HVB temperature since I will be going through Las Vegas in coming days. I am also planning on doing another x-country road trip!
While scanning, I've noticed that the HVB SoC (77%) is less than...
I really hope it won't take you as long as mine. What I ended up doing was getting in touch with Ford customer relations number and open an investigation in to your repairs and hope they can expedite the repairs. I kept in close contact with Ford engineers with the repairs and I asked them to...
For those that are still following, or reading this thread for first time, I am happy to report, after 7 months, yes you read that right, my Mach-e battery problems has been solved and fixed! Now explaining the reason for the super long wait, I can honestly say I don't know why. I don't know...
I'm glad I found this post. I thought I was going crazy. So I received my first Edition back from the dealership after an extensive repair (going to start a new page explaining what went down soon) and my vehicle received the new charging curve update. My mach-e is a Dec 2020 build. I was...
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I have a FE and unfortunately it's been at the dealership service for 3+ months with a major defect that prevents 12v battery getting its charge. It may gotten to the point to where we would have to execute lemon law and will be seeking the GT. I like the orange...
I would order at this point the GT Performance.
To add, I was able to speak with the engineers and they were doing a thorough check on other faults, hence why it's taking them this long. Not gonna hold my breath. If this does get fixed and breaks down within a year, then yeah time to lemon law it.
I'm glad they were able to resolve your issue. I may have similar/same issue as you do. The module of my first edition mach-e would not charge the 12v battery. I got stranded three times since late June. First time was km Chicago my hometown
Second was my drive back to LA and stranded in...
I was looking in to lemon law and was seriously considering it. However, the nerdy side of me says that I should stomach it and let them finish it because after all it is a first edition mach-e. So if there is any further delays that would reach to Christmas time, I will begin proceedings for...
Update: so it's been 12 weeks since I last seen my mach-e before towed away to the dealership. So it took forever for dealership to receive the module part. Now I just learned that they need to order a tool that will install the module. The "tool" would arrive "november 10th." Are you f'n...
Update! So I've been told that the hybrid module is what had gone bad. They said it's a "breakthrough" and may not necessarily mean it's the root of the problem..crossing fingers that it is the problem and that it will be fixed. They expect the module delivery and fix be done on October 6th!
Ok sounds good! I called ford corporate and opened a investigation case for this fix. I am supposed to get an update tomorrow and I would be happy to talk to the engineers and let them know about TSB 21-2245. I'll also forward them my experience to where I believe when things started going bad...
Hey, sorry for super late reply. It's been 7 weeks since it's been at the dealership. The only update I have is that they had the engineers come fly down here to look at the car. That was in August 23rd. Nothing else has been done to the car since. I had to call Ford corporate to open an...
I forget to share an update, hopefully this clear things up. So I got the 12v battery replaced with a new one. I drove it back to LA from Denver. I make it back home safely. After I finished unloading my stuff, I go back to my car to park my car in my garage, only to find the 12v battery once...
UPDATE 1
Dealership managed to replace the battery for me with a new one. He hasn't said much as far as other tests. I basically need to fly back to Denver to pick her up over the weekend (because I'm working in L.A. this week) and get the full details to see if they performed all checklists...
Yeah I agree, I've never heard of this either. My understanding is that the vehicle is engineered to have accessory mode or run on without any issues. Like other vehicles these days, if the 12v is running low, the car would prompt you to run the car or turn off.
That being said in my defense...
