Some of my FSD observations in my wife's MY. I've played with it both on surface streets and the highway
It turns the turn signal on way too soon. Sometimes a turn too early.
It brakes way sooner than I would. It's probably more efficient, but it would drive me crazy being in the car behind...
No, I do not need a break every 2 hours which is what my current road trip is like in an EV. In an ICE, I don't beed a break until after my 10-12 hours of driving is done. It's fill up every 600 miles for 5-10 minutes and get back on the road. So much of my travel time in an EV is wasted not...
I make it clear that I'll refuse delivery if there are any dealer logos on the car. The first thing I do when I get home is remove the license plate surround. Unless they intend to give me an extremely generous discount (they'd have to lose money on the sale), I'm not going to be a billboard.
The problem is Ford took shortcuts when designing the MME to save money (and time to market). They chose to use legacy components wherever they could. The MME is not a 'computer on wheels'. It's mostly still just like every legacy car Ford builds, but with a huge battery and electric motors...
I think newer cars shipped with a fix. I had the issue 100% of the time with my '21 job 1. My late '22 build has never had the issue. Since your profile shows you have a '22, you likely have a fix from the factory just like my '22.
That might actually be one of my only use cases for hands free - if I'm hot and want to take off my sweater/sweatshirt. It would be only for a few seconds though. Then my hands would be right back on the wheel with my seat belt buckled.
My guess is this is a direct reaction to videos some...
That actually makes sense. Until it's resolved, they won't know how long of an extension to give you.
However, if they really wanted to do right, they'd just do something like give you a 1 year extension which is hopefully well beyond how long it will take to get fixes out. Some bonus time...
Run a cable from the rear USB ports or from a charger in the 12V socket in the center console. You could also buy a power only USB cable that doesn't have the data wires in it.
I never park right next to another car if I can avoid it. And as someone else mentioned, some (older) chargers share power so it's also best to space out. I don't see any nefarious behavior here.
So you think there are no costs to run a charging network beyond the cost of electricity? They're likely not making money at those rates either. They need to pay for the capital investments of the chargers, installing them and the electric hookup. Add in ongoing costs associated with the land...
Why would Tesla want to buy up EA? They already have more locations. Many of the EA ones would be in a similar location and not expand the network. The newer Tesla locations I've seen are large footprint. Why would they want to expand to an EA location with a small footprint rather than...
Considering that's the standard for all new ev platforms, I'd hope Ford would include 800V. It should not be a surprise nor something to celebrate. It's an expectation.
Just ignore the message. You have a new phone/Android version that hasn't been added to the compatibility check yet. Chances are it works just as well as any other Android phone (there will still be some buggy behavior, but it's not specific to your phone).
The Mach E is not a $50k car. It's only that price because that's where BEVs are right now. Ford is losing money on the MME, so they're looking down market for volume. Without a solid platform, volume won't get them margins.
They might have success in Europe/Asia with a compact low range...
Reading through here, I get the impression some people spend way too much time looking at a screen rather than the road in front of/around them. Ironically, those are the people that actually need the ADAS features the most, yet are insistent they don't want them.
They made the placement consistent. Having a gauge that moves depending on what mode the car is in is bad design. People should always know where it is regardless of having something or another turned on.
I could care less where it is. Every car I've owned has had it on one side or the...
Neither are mandatory features for me. I find the 360 view to be worthless. Most of the time, due to either rain drops, road grime or it being dark out, it's so blurry, I have no idea what I'm seeing. I almost never look at the rear camera when backing out. I look backwards.
I've yet to...
I'm guessing they're realizing that having someone on Marketing adding 'OTAs' as a punch list feature well after engineering had started and selected legacy modules for many components was a big mistake. Doing OTAs can be hard enough when you control all the software. Harder when you have to...
When mine gets switched back on by an update, it always tries to route me to places I've never been and have no interest in ever going to.
What I'd like to know is whether or not any of the people at Ford responsible for adding this feature (I assume it's in more than just the MME) actually...
