After 2 1/4 years, our roof cracked. It wasn't clear why (no particular signs of rock impact, but who knows). This puts the roof squarely in the "one more thing to worry about" category, which is a first for me when it comes to car roofs. On the other hand, my insurance covered 100% of the...
Hey, Mike, would you please look me up again? I took it into the dealer to solve the OTA problem, and they were frustratingly vague about what they actually did. Maybe you can tell? Thank you!

I talked to the OTA team yesterday. Apparently Blue Cruise updates are still on hold for technical reasons. I'm torn whether to bring the car back to the dealer now to deal with the OTA issue and risk having to bring it back again later to install Blue Cruise, or to wait for the Blue Cruise...
I'm grateful for this resource. I haven't had an OTA since January of 2022 (though some trips back to the dealer mean I'm not quite that far behind, though no BlueCruise and I'm missing more than a year of PowerUps). Last fall, Ford said to ask the dealer to install BlueCruise and that might...
I've had the HVBJB update done, but I'm still stuck at over a year without updates or BlueCruise. Haven't had HVAC, yet, though, so maybe that is part of it. Just a data point.
A year ago they didn't know much about EVs (case in point--when I gave them a low rating, they offered me a free oil change), but it is also true that a year is an eternity for EVs, so I hope things have gotten better.
I've found that when it gets the car's position wrong overnight while in my garage, it tends to be consistent and put it at the same wrong place (about a block over), so I just told the car that whenever it is charging at that place, it should also stop at 80%. That was the least hassle way to...
This happened to me early this year. The dealer ended up having to reprogram the APIM to re-establish connectivity. (Since then, I've not received any OTAs, but at least I can remotely start and warm the car, which is huge in Minnesota.)
I thought I was doing everything correctly--in early September I set up an appointment for late September with my dealer, figuring that if the OTA came before then, I could cancel the appointment. When I got to the dealer, they told me that in their experience it can take "weeks" for them to get...
Same boat! No updates since the spring, no BlueCruise. The dealer says updates are up to Ford, and Ford says that getting the BlueCruise update at the dealer (which the dealer said can take "days or weeks") might unstick OTA updates, but they aren't sure, which isn't comforting. Plus...
Sort of. After 7 trips into the dealer, they were finally able to get connected services back by resetting and reprogramming the APIM. So now I can do things like remote start the car, which makes me happy.
However, that was back in March and since then I've not gotten a single OTA update. No...
Huh...that's interesting, and I do have Xfinity. If that's what's going on, though, I wonder why I don't lose Android Auto, say, when I hit my driveway and my phone finds my home network.
My Mach-E didn't come with the card with the factory code, but it didn't matter because it let me program my own door code when I set up Phone As A Key. I guess I'm not sure, though, whether the code I programmed would get wiped out in a master reset of the car.
Does a global reset wipe out the new door code and set it back to the default? Or once you change it does the new code stick until it is specifically changed?
This happened to me a couple of times recently after the dealer did some updates. But I noticed both times that it placed the car the same place: a block and a half over from my garage. So I set that as a second recharge point and set the charge limit to 90%. I'm hoping that does the trick but...
