Ugh, well at least I felt like I got a good deal on my GTPE last week up to yesterday š¤¦āāļøš I couldāve had a 24ā¦ what a crazy time in the market.
Finally installed the EU Ford (made in Germany) mud flapsā¦
Not exciting, but PPF goes on Wednesday, once Iām done with the coat of glaze and 2 coats of wax Iāll post the whole car ;)
Ceramic coating for the splash guards, that sounds like an interesting idea. Would we expect that to alter the appearance at all, or just be like a more durable protection than the usual vinyl sunscreen? I had thought about just applying a clear coat to them to make them more glossy.
If I remember correctly (spouse has the car) it is yellow before the charge starts, or when idle, and turns to red if there is a problem. Since the power level is displayed Iām good with that.
We could have all gone to CCS2, which until now I didn't realize the EU version of CCS was different. It will be nice to have a smaller door on the car.
This was a proposed new "standard" back in 2016, note the pins are labeled:
The info would be great, but I do like the way Polestar/Volvo presents it on the instrument screen- with a pulsing green outline. Maybe Ford can implement it with a galloping pony (yeah, I know, wouldn't work with the truck.)
Yeah, please let me know. My spouse has a friend in London so if you donāt have them or they got messed up itās no worry. Thanks for checking! Just thought I should get something since I also just picked up a GTPE.
Thought I would bump this thread back up. I'm either going to have the UK ones shipped to me or order the AOSK ones, but I do prefer the size and look of the Ford UK splash guards, even though they require drilling. I have not been able to locate a seller here in the states that is importing...
I did a few WOT tests myself š but of course mine failed driving slowly off my street on the way to an important meeting I didnāt want to be late forā¦
I finally got around to installing a 40 amp line to test my mobile charger and it worked fine for over 2 hours at the expected rate of about 20-22 miles an hour.
I noticed with my new 23 that the last 2 digits on the model number changed from AE to AM. From made in China to now made in Mexico...
Yeah, the first year + of this was a dumpster fire, but I still appreciate the gesture and effort. Another area where dealing with ford directly would have been better than the dealers (considering the 3 I have worked with here.) I assume I will not be getting the gifts since I had the recall...
Looks like they made a change to the Ford mobile charger sometime from 2021 to 2023- I assume a cost cutting thing, but the one with my 23 has a all black handle/connector, made in Mexico, whereas with the 21 was glossy white with a blue logo and appears heavier- made in China, as pictured. The...
Yeah, I noticed the difference, the whole charging door dimple thing, but went with a June build instead of July or later anyway. Darn it.
There aren't any suspension changes on the 2023.5 right?
It appeared to be just the dimple added, same door/latch. The one I noticed Saturday was built in Oct, not sure about the ones when I first noticed that change right after Feb 21st, but no doubt they were built after July.
Great post. You can tell the 2023.5 models from outside the vehicle (I believe) by looking at the charge door- it has a dimple where you are supposed to press to open it. I noticed that, but didn't realize on Saturday when I picked my new one up that there were differences beyond the battery...
I think the difference is that my 2021 came with a what I thought was the manual, but probably just the supplemental- in a decent cloth binder/envelope with a place for the factory card, whereas the 2023 I picked up Saturday just had the supplemental and the factory code card loose.
While I don't regret the purchase, owning the vehicle has been an adventure. I love the car, but wish I would have held off for about a year before getting one as mine had many of the early version issues. I've had it for 3 years now and would actually like to get a GT Perf for the slightly...
