A number of kids in my neighborhood recognize my car because of this marketing campaign from 2021. I thoroughly enjoy taking on the “youth” in some Rocket League matches.
Fully agree, the PAAK OTA has been really great. Rarely see an unlocking delay anymore. I put the fob back in the drawer! Kudos to the Ford software engineers!
Not sure long press is a good idea on a vertical screen. It works well on our phones where we can change the angle of attack and resist the pressure with our hand behind the screen but not so much when your hand is floating in the air and the screen is vertically oriented.
I would really love to see an OTA that only addresses specific bugs, no new features. And I would really love those bug fixes to be listed out like Apple does with iOS. For instance:
Fixes an issue for some drivers where the rear hatch randomly opens for no reason
Fixes an issue for some...
While I can’t speak to the location of the button on screen, the new shape of the button indicates use of the in-house design system - streamlining the UI elements to align more closely to other platforms (like Ford.com).
I also have a build date around yours and am sitting at 1.7.1. I don’t think I’m “stuck” like some others. I think we’re just later in the release queue so we see all these forum posts before it’s our turn. My first few updates came one after the other over the span of a few days. Waiting for...
I bought this off Amazon. Used a knife to cut one of the sides out to hold the Ford charger handle. The extension cable fits on the other side. Holds the junction off the ground perfectly and protects from rain/snow...
its been my experience that the car downloads the OTA update during an active driving session and installs it while off the next time. Idling the car doesn’t seem to engage the installation. I’m sure different OTAs have different requirements in this area.
Figured I would add a follow up here. My theory was correct. I’ve been getting OTAs at a steady clip, every 4-5 days. You do have to be driving the car to download the OTA artifact and then it will install the next time the car is shut off. No issues since that original anonymous OTA. Nice...
Just following up in case it helps anyone. After the expiration time stamp on this anonymous bug fix passed, I got Powerup 1.4.0 with Securalert (which I have never gotten). My best guess is that the bug fix helped reset my OTA process and now my car will be stepping through each update over...
the big fix I mentioned doesn’t seem to be 1.7.1. It doesn’t actually have a version number - just a generic bug fix. Now that my OTA status isn’t “expired”, maybe the car will attempt 1.7.1 soon?
I haven’t received a successful OTA since buying the car in August. After yesterday’s outage, I now see this bug fix update as successful in FordPass. So something seems to be clicking now
I actually just noticed this same issue yesterday for the first time. Thought it was maybe a one off thing. Will be curious to see if more owners chime in about this.
