Hopefully in the future a low voltage battery gauge will be included on the screen somewhere, like a diagnostic page, so we can see whats up. I hear that future EV LVB's will have a higher voltage, (36v?) to better handle all the electronics on board, with less heat and weight.
I don't drive much and only charge at home, I have two EVSE's, one for L1 (Ford mobile)and one for L2 (Grizzle)charging when needed.
To keep the LVB happy on my car, I plug in the L1 charger, 120v, EVSE when the HVB is at about 50%. By the time the HVB pack is up to around 80% (all night) my LVB...
I don‘t Drive much so the 12v battery does not really get to 100% Soc.
I charge the car from 40% to 80% every other day so the 12v battery can get too low especially when the weather gets below 32 degrees, so I have learned to use my Ford 110v EVSE totrickle charge over night, the 12v and HVB...
Yes! I recently learned that plugging in the 110 volt side of the EVSE for 6 hours or more will "trickle charge" the 12 volt battery, its SOC will climb faster than the HVB! I do this when the HVB gets down to 50%. The 110v 15 amp EVSE takes a long time to get to the programmed 80% stopping...
I had usb stick with Flac files plugged in the first time but the update still failed after it was unplugged and I tried the instill now option.
it will try again at 6 am tomorrow so hopefully the update to 6.4.0 will work 😑
Got 6.2.1 a few days ago. Then got a notice that 6.4.0 will install when scheduled, I have it set for 6 am every morning. 6.4.0 tried and failed this morning and said something else blocked the update.
I had it plugged into my EVSE L2 charger - the SOC reached 80% long before 6.
I made sure...
Yes the testing needs to be updated for real word operation.
My Grizzly is just inside my garage and if the garage door is open during the day the sun will shine directly on the charger for a couple of hours or so, I'm sure the Grizzly would get too hot if I had my car charging during that time.
How would they know if the OTA update broke something in your car?
It is a software update, does Microsoft know if one of their updates screws something up on your computer?
They can't possibly make everyone's update go perfectly.
I've had zero issues with my premium so far and I'll never need more than 5 seconds of full throttle.
One should adjust the hatch height on day one so that it won't hit the garage door.
When I need to charge to 100% for a trip and outside temperature is cold,
I try sync my departure time with charge complete time so the battery is already preconditioned or at least warmer and the cabin is toasty when I leave.
