It is hard to tell from the video, but that sounds like cold summer tires "chattering" on the pavement. The worst I ever experienced was in my buddies new Corvette, sounded horrible but it goes away when the tires or the weather warm up.
They need some OS changes before I would consider getting back in a GT. And it would require zero hardware... Number one would be to be able to set a global max charge that is editable easily and not have it dependent on location, which doesn't work consistently for a lot of MME owners...
This pretty much nails it. First stop to first stop comparison, the difference is almost 100% tires. Lack of fade in the GTPE is about the bigger rotors, and perhaps pad compound, which typically has a huge impact but they may be the same.
In other words, the 24 is what the 21 SHOULD have been, and what those of us who pre-ordered a GT or GTPE expected. Good job Ford, just three years too late.
I did the same, although not the day I got it ;)
Its one thing I liked about the MMEGT as opposed to my i4M50... I can't leave the BMW on, although I haven't researched coding much at all.
Exactly. BEVs, in general, and definitely the Mach E, won't let you put the car in gear and drive away if anything is plugged in. Seems like this device would be largely useless unless it somehow defeated that safety mechanism.
I myself have TRIED to drive the car off several times while...
I don't think you have the grasp of physics and its relationship to cornerning that you think you have.... Not particularly interested in a huge debate or spending 30 minutes trying to explain free body diagrams, but your interpretation of what centripetal force is doing to the car is not...
As a comparison, my calculated (not reported) SOH on my BMW i4M50 is almost exactly the same at around 92-93% after 22k miles. The HVB typically drop off early but then stay mostly stable for many (100k+?) miles based on what I read.
You don't charge by mile, you charge to a %. For best battery health, you want to stay within 20-80% charge level, Don't run it down really low, and don't charge to 100% unless you need to go on a trip. No one is really sure how much it matters long term, but it definitely matters.
You don't appear to understand what was being referred to. Your statement supports his, not refutes it. 1PD in a Mach E uses regen, then friction brakes as required braking forces increase (if they even do for a given event.) 2PD ALSO uses regen, of the same amount, as 1PD.
You can stand on the brakes in a MMEGT, and floor the accelerator, and nothing much happens other than you can feel the car sort of tense up. In my now-current i4m50 doing that starts launch control.
You don't want the car back at this point. I agree its frustrating that the thieves will likely get away with it, but your car is likely trashed, one way or another. I suspect that if you were dealing with a small-town local police or county Sheriff, your experience would be more positive...
We love it. It has been flawless, not a single issue nor day in service since purchase. Its much faster at highway speeds than the MMEGT, and about the same below 60mph. The ride is way smoother, with fabulous damping, little harshness, etc. Kind of opposite of the MMEGT which rides like...
Todd, I had a great (was it, really??) time working with you and a couple of other guys (Sam and Ben, not sure if they are around any more) trying to resolve that Bluecruise failure after doing FDRS updates. The one that turned out to be related to the IPC update that appeared to somehow break...
Local places (Cincinnati area) are advertising ~$345/month leases at 3 year 12k/year with $8600 down on Kia EV6 GT. Not that I am in the market, but its a heck of a lease deal.
My 2021 GT used to get poodlebars at EVERY start event when the car was switched off for more than ~ 2 minutes. I could run into a convenience store (usually for beer LOL) and come out, and it would have ~8 bars, regardless of ambient temp. They would typically last for a good 5 minutes of...
