i used to use walk away lock but stopped when it got annoying that it would lock in my garage
anyway, I found that if I walked away while the liftgate was closing and I got out of range before it finished, the car would not lock. So if I was in the back I had to stand around until it closed...
Today I tried to change channels on the steering wheel and nothing happened. So I selected the radio tile and what comes up? Nothing! I have had the aggravating issue of it changing my presets since I bought the car almost two years ago (good job Ford!) But it has never done this. I have to say...
I go to the car wash frequently (I have a monthly unlimited plan) and, except for the first time when I dialed into reverse by mistake, I have not had a problem. I just put it into N, turn off the wipers, and set the fan to recirculate. I don’t get out (or I guess I would need the 'L' button.
I worked in software my whole working life, and I find a lot of the Ford user facing software frequently annoying. One of the basic tenets of user facing software is that, when you give users the opportunity to 'customize' their settings, the data that supports those settings is NOT YOURS TO...
I am having it happen about every third or fourth time I start the car. It's particularly annoying as I have to back out of my garage and take a fairly tight left turn, so I have come to depend on the cameras (one of the downsides of technology!). About a minute after I start driving the screen...
I have been getting it occasionally for the past month or so. Why would it be unavailable? I don't think it has any dependence on cameras or other external sensors, so weather should not be an issue. WTF?
I have actually figured out a way to restore the right presets. It seems that when I change profiles (via the seat preset buttons) if I don’t wait for it to finish, it retains the prior presets. When I notice the wrong presets I
turn off the car
change to another profile
wait until the seat...
How useful is that when you are already inside the vehicle. Press the vehicle icon, then Access, then open the frunk, when you can just reach down and pull the mechanical lever twice (i.e two vs. three).
What is useful is when you are approaching the car and can click something on the fob or...
This is more of a bug discovery, but if you have set walk away lock, and you close the hatch and walk away far enough before it fully closes, the car does not lock. So now when I get my gear out of the back, I hit the close button and wait until I hear the final click before walking away.
I put mine in the lower position pretty soon after taking delivery. The space under the panel is almost useless. What is it - 3"? What can fit there? I have a couple of things I use for photo shoots that I keep in the back that seem small to me - light stand, tripod, umbrella - but they don't...
For the fourth time in 4-1/2 months that I have had my Mach-E the radio presets have reset to what they were when I drove it off the lot.
when I took delivery I enthusiastically set all the stations to my preferences.
the first time it reset, I was annoyed and only set the first two rows to...
Thanks for all the input. I think I can infer that the message on my dashboard is to make sure that, being plugged in, it can keep the battery above 32°. just how much that consumes depends on the environment. I have an insulated garage, so it is much less than someone who parks theirs outdoors...
My original question was not about battery loss while idle. It was about additional power usage while plugged in but not actively charging. recently every time I turn off the car I see a message saying
so why would it be important if it were not going to use energy? In addition, while it is...
I have read recommendations to plug in the Mach-E every night, and now that it is cold out, the car displays a message saying it should be plugged in to protect the battery. How much power is that using every night? If it is even 2 kWh per night, that is Another 60 per month that should really...
This is not as crazy as it appears. In fact it looks like Tesla had been subsiding the cost up to now - or at least minimizing their profit.
Consider a 180 kW charger, producing 3 kWh/min (180 kW * 1/60 hr). At that rate you are paying $0.28 b kWh. Not to bad as the cheapest fast charger I have...
I see this occasionally as well, and as a retired programmer, I am dumbfounded by this problem. When the car shuts down, it should have a set of tasks to accomplish - what used to be called an exit list. Unless the program crashes, resetting the miles and time should happen in one task in the...
