Be careful with this. Anything that pulls from the high voltage battery that doesn't report back to the VCU may cause incorrect battery level calculations.
Lithium battery capacity is all estimation (until fully charged). A combination of factors (no load voltage, Coulomb counting etc) are used...
I realize taking the file down was a bit like a child running home with the ball when someone was mean….. don’t want to do that. Once I have a terms of use drafted or may apply a Creative Commons license or Apache license to the design.
Also will provide links to people for third party print...
Got threatened negative feedback by someone that could figure out how to put on a simple clip and wanted a video tutorial. Then called me rude "to a fellow mach e owner" (like that fucking matters) when I told them all I could give was a few pictures and would have to take the store down if if...
Hopefully they are smarter than my dealer; took 3 trips. First two "we updated the software, you're good to go". Until they finally let me get through the clueless service writer and talk to the EV tech for them to actually understand the issue.
Toyota has been saying that they have solid state battery tech coming since 2017. Everyone seems to think the moment a small scale theory is proven that the full scale tech comes the next month. The hardest part sometimes isn't proving the theory; is scaling to something useful.
So anyone that ordered.....
I have stronger filament and shipping materials coming today. I hope to have everything labeled and shipped by Sunday or Tuesday. Wasn't really in my plans to be selling these originally so had to get materials.
Thanks for the orders!
Yeah, saw both of those and didn't like either design. The first one just felt like it would potentially fall off over time (using only two bumps for retention). The second I wasn't even quite sure how to use.
Also needed to start brushing off those cad skills for a future EV conversion.
I has been about 20 years since I've done any cad work; but since I now have access to 3d printers at my home I figured I would try to make a clip to fix the cargo cover clip in place. File attached if anyone else wants to give them a shot.
Edit: Etsy Link for those without 3d printers...
Sell the car. You clearly aren't enjoying it. I'm very glad you don't run risk management/system safety anywhere I have worked in my career. Nothing would ever get made.
No, but I can tell you it has been designed to not fail in that way. Does that guarantee the contactors will not weld or fail open; no. Nothing has a non-zero failure rate.
Ford didn't mess anything up. Literally this is an emerging market. Parts don't exist for a lot of needs, the LEV200...
You are using a false equivalency for your argument.
A tire blowout can be quite dangerous, suddenly limiting how far your car can go can be quite annoying. This does neither of those.
I had this happen to me while trying to merge onto a highway with my 2 year old in back. I've experienced...
No, it's angry engineer vibes. They have unknown quality contactors from a supplier. Engineers came up with a way to detect when a failure was about to occur. The car goes into a safe mode when this occurs (power like a Prius) and you can keep driving it. No different than a failed map/maf...
