The good folks on the Rivian forum are saying they expect their early deliveries to start this or next week. They are prioritizing based on who took delivery of their vehicle first. And it’s free for them too.
It’s not just us anymore.
I drive the Mach-E like I do any other car. I’m not the one turning brake lights on and off and getting pissy about it. It’s the other guys. Why don’t you read four pages to figure out who’s who first before passively responding.
That is a reasonable thing to do. My point is that you shouldn’t be anxiously monitoring the brake lights on the dash and overreacting with brake pedal application to force a brake light on.
The brake coach is training you to be a better driver, reacting to the real signal (cars around you), not the noise (whether the brake light is on or off).
So you are going to change how you apply the brake based on whether the light is on or off? Vs braking as required to maintain safe speed and following distance?
That’s objectively ass backwards.
Friend, we are heading towards more automation, not less! And to create more chores for the driver...

Teslas use their brake lights way less frequently than Mach-Es do. Try to drive behind one and you’ll see how annoying it is to the car following them (decelerating without lights). The fact that they have to correct for this issue using lights on the IP to the Tesla driver on a model S or X...
You will never get that feature. Like in the entirety of your existence. OEMs are not idiots and will not add something that is distracting to the IP. The we is all of us except you.
First, we don’t need to ever know when the car is braking. That is not only useless information, but distracting to the driver. Anything flashing on the IP in your face better mean you need to react to immediately. Otherwise it would be very dangerous. That’s why some of us are bothered by the...
