As the temperature is rising in North Texas we're seeing about 210 estimate at 80% on a Premium AWD ER which is very close to EPA. However about a thousand and one things affect EV range: temps, headwind, tailwind, crosswind, altitude, passenger weight, etc etc.
Unfortunately it seems they’re going for their highest margin vehicles first which are the Select and GT which makes sense from a business perspective but from a customer centered view it’s very frustrating
Premiums are getting the short end of the stick for sure. 11/1 Premium AWD ER order and not scheduled yet. My guess would be an August delivery at best for me
It definitely took me a couple weeks to get used to the regen braking but I really love it for traffic jams since my foot doesn't have to move between pedals.
Your own data suggests at 100% your car would get 200 miles of range. The EPA rating for SR AWD is 211 miles so you're right in like with that assuming perfect wind and temp conditions.
I can't imagine they deliver any meaningful numbers of Lightnings this year like maybe <5K considering how backed up their one year old Mach E lines are.
Still the most common misunderstanding out there. I was also under the impression that fast charging was vital to being able to use an EV until I started researching EVs. It would be nice if some mainstream sources did decent stories or articles on explanation of EV use cases.
It'd be interesting to be able to do a large scale survey of ride quality impressions of the Mach E and what car they used to drive. We traded my wife's Subaru Legacy for her Mach E and I'd say it's on par with that. I drive a WRX and the Mach E's ride is significantly better than my WRX.
Just for reference on why they might halt these trims. Ordered a premium 11/1 and not scheduled for production yet meaning earliest production is May, given the current 3 month chip holds and one month for delivery that means a September delivery more than likely and there are 4 months of orders...
AMD is on all cars too btw new, used, whatever. It's a bad time to buy a car. The car we traded in for the Mach E is being listed for $22K. We bought it out the door for $20K 5 years and 45k miles ago. Wrap your head around a used, 7 year old Subaru Legacy with 90K miles being sold for 10% more...
I also find it funny that Ford obviously believed in this vehicle enough to give it one of their most beloved names and yet the random person on the internet is the arbiter of what is and isn’t a mustang. Not the person whose name is in the Blue Oval.
That's always been my concern aside from the "can they actually build it?" one. I think they're going to have 4 showrooms in the US but I have yet to see mentions of service centers.
I started looking around at other EVs, mainly the Ioniq 5 but all but one Hyundai dealer is basically charging $5K of ADM on them with the one dealer who isn't not having any in stock(shocking). I finally sucked it up and opened up the range on AutoTrader to see if I can get one shipped for a...
