Best home chargers of 2024 - review by State Of Charge

I got around to the video today, not sure if this is what you meant, but he did not name the Emporia as the winner. He said it won last year, and this year he was listing the 7 best with no specific winner.

    Way too DANGEROUS!

Yeah it's a tough one. I don't find 1 pedal to be strong enough that I could imagine it putting me at risk if it didn't work, I am usually several car lengths away before I let it do full regen, or if I have a lot of time (coming up to a red light) I don't fully let off the accel to modulate the...

Model 3 Highland Performance now with 2.9 0-60 and magnaride'ish

Eh, cracks are only starting to show if you can provide stats that show those issues to be impacting even a moderate number of customers. Some 2022/2023 owners have had HVBJB issues, but nowhere near the rate of 2021 and early 2022 drivers. I have a 2022 and haven't had an issue, and anyone that...

Best home chargers of 2024 - review by State Of Charge

We had the OG JuiceBox for years and it was great, by OG I mean the one that was a silver rectangle and no LEDs or anything else. We got it for our 2016 C-Max Energi and moved it with us to Michigan and it kept going strong through the C-Max, Focus Electric, and first few months of the MME. I...

Model 3 Highland Performance now with 2.9 0-60 and magnaride'ish

My parent's neighbor has a 2021 Model X that has been towed to the Tesla service station (which isn't easy as the closest one used to be in Ohio, now they have one in MI, but it's still 45 minutes away). Most recent issue was he completely lost power steering. He's an old guy too, in his 80s...

New (from Dealer) 2023 GTPE ... only updated to Revision 640 ... looks like this car has had no OTA updates at all ... suggestions?

Ah gotcha, I don't think it's stuck, as far as I know that mainly just plagued the 2021 MY, but again could be mistaken. The Power-Up frequency has never been really even, also understand that it requires the 12V battery to be at a good state and typically the car will go into deep sleep mode...

New (from Dealer) 2023 GTPE ... only updated to Revision 640 ... looks like this car has had no OTA updates at all ... suggestions?

Also should note that the vehicle comes from the factory with typically all the power-ups available to the date of manufacture. It's not common for the dealer to do any module updates beyond that. So you not receiving any power-ups since it was delivered isn't odd on its own. My 2023 F-150...

Your Sync 4 version isn't an indicator of what Power-up you are on. While I haven't kept a super close eye on the evolution of the subject, I don't believe there is a way to know your power-up version from the screen unless you recently received one and can see the recent installed version. You...

When the frunk is open, the car lights stay off. This is not OK!

I honestly can't think of a situation where I would be close to the car but the lights wouldn't be on anyway. In your pictures you took them standing far back, but any time I get near my F-150 or Mach-e, all the lights come on. I have actually developed a crazy-person-adjacent habit of...

    OttoCast... is it worth it?

I admit I don't understand what you're trying to do either, all you did was mention two phone companies and say you are at odds getting to the right interface. What does that mean? If I took it at face value it would sound like both phones connect to the car and it doesn't always pick the one...

US Based MME Traveling to Canada and Superchargers

That is very helpful, thank you! I imagine we will have other trips into Canada in the near future so the more I can have ready the easier it should be. Thanks again.

US Based MME Traveling to Canada and Superchargers

Good reminders. Actually got passports for the kids now so we get to use them, although Canada crossing isn't quite as intense as some others, or at least it wasn't the last time I did it.

US Based MME Traveling to Canada and Superchargers

Thank you for the detail, you are better than Plugshare! Good to know it should be that seamless, assuming the place isn't full.

US Based MME Traveling to Canada and Superchargers

Ah, that's good to know. I haven't relied on the Blue Oval part at all so far (aside from P&C I guess but it's just been my included EA kWh). I will make sure all my CC info is up to date before we go. Thanks again.

US Based MME Traveling to Canada and Superchargers

Thank you, any idea if we are able to pay at the EC station itself? I think the US based ones have readers, I have always used P&C so didn't pay a ton of attention.

US Based MME Traveling to Canada and Superchargers

Hi all, I went through some threads in a search, but it's a tough set of keywords because almost every thread about superchargers mentions Canada, and I found a thread about Superchargers and Plug and Charge, but it looked like all the owners were in Canada. We have a trip planned next month...

    4/29/2024 🤞

If it is BC 1.x, it won't be too late for me. I thankfully don't have a lot of highway trips week to week, but we have a trip coming up in early May and while we may not get it in time still if this is a start of rollout, there is another trip in August and a good chance for that date. I still...

    FordPass app wish

Using the FP app to track consumption is a losing battle, better to do it with the EVSE, and most I have seen can match with provider rates. There are losses in a few areas between what the EVSE consumes and what is delivered to the car, so tracking from FP will never be as accurate as tracking...

    Tesla Adapter update

Yeah it's crazy to say there are no supply chain issues. There are issues in supply chains all over all the time and have been for as long as there have been supply chains. A factory has a fire, or is hit by a tornado, or there is political unrest in a country that is the main exporter of some...
