Ford to Offer Complimentary Tesla Supercharger Adapter to Eligible Mach-E Owners (1/31/24 Update)

I donā€™t believe it for one minute and wonā€™t until itā€™s in my hands. No date provided No details on ā€œeligibilityā€ No details on process of acquiring the adapter I would not be surprised if we donā€™t get this for several years, if ever.

Electrify America - extremely bad first experience

OP, your first mistake was thinking the Mach-E is capable of doing road trips. The CCS network needs to die a quick fiery death. Second mistake was not setting up plug-n-charge (if I read your post correctly). I made the exact same mistake near the start of my Mach-E ownership journey. Moral...

    Blue Cruise offer

Iā€™ve seen posts in other threads where a few people said theyā€™ll consider paying the $800/year after they get a chance to try BC1.3. At the core of it, itā€™s still SAE Level 2 ADAS. You still have to watch the road. Level 3 is where you can do something while the car is driving. There is no...

    Blue Cruise offer

I have no idea how people are seriously contemplating spending $800/year for this. Level 2 ADAS isnā€™t worth anything close to that price. Level 3? Maybe.

    Blue Cruise offer

Is Ford targeting SAE level 3 ADAS with the existing fleet? If yes, when are they thinking theyā€™ll get to SAE level 3?

A bit of a brutal take on the Mach-e and a bit on EV's in general.

Iā€™m really critical of the Mach-E but I think these guys are full of crap. Nonsensical comparison, undervaluing performance, tech, quality of interior, lower cost of ownership, etc. Ford needs a swift kick in the nuts for the Mach-E. Some of their observations are accurate, but most of it is...

It's November. Where is our Blue cruise update?

Iā€™m thinking itā€™ll be similar to the frunk button timeline. Weā€™ll get the BC1.3 update in 2 or 3 years. And Iā€™m not trying to make a joke. I legitimately think thatā€™s the most likely scenario. Edit: To be clear, being late is perfectly fine if itā€™s for safety reasons. However, communicate with...

    Power Up 6.x Poll

ā€˜22 RWD ER Premium. On 6.2 for about 2 weeks. Not EA.

    Power-Up 6.4.0

I thought OTAs use the home Wi-Fi. Is that not the case?

Confusing range ratings - is RWD with extended range battery actually the highest?

I have a ā€˜22 Premium LR RWD. Getting to the local mountains in Los Angeles means roughly 210-230 mile range. I like to hike and mountain bike. Not sure how other vehicles fare in this regard. My buddies Tesla Y needs a charge before getting home. I can just charge to 95%, get to my destination...

    Navigation preference Ford or Apple?

Apple Maps. Almost exclusively. I would never use the Ford Nav if the Apple Maps could pre-condition the battery for a DC charge.

    Coming soon: BlueCruise 1.3

Iā€™ll believe it when I see it in my Mach-E. And Iā€™m still not subscribing. The price is ludicrous for a level 2 ADAS. Level 3? Yes probably worth it. As it is, nope.

    Blue Cruise map enhancements.

Same problem as OPā€¦ in the exact same spot! The 210 freeway. BC always disengages there. And many other points on the 210.

    Power-Up 4.3.4 Is Out

Pre-conditioning doesnā€™t work for me. Iā€™m on the update that came after 4.2.6. Iā€™ve set the Ford Nav to a EA station about 30 miles out. Got to the charger and got a whopping 55KW charging speed. And it was 70+F outside.

Rivian to adopt NACS in line with Ford and GM - Stellantis in talks

Good riddance. May the CCS network die a painful death.

Mach-E to gain access to Tesla Superchargers! Get standard NACS port starting 2025! [āš ļø ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS / SOCIAL / MUSK COMMENTARY]

Iā€™m not sure how else to interpret what he said. He literally said: ā€œWeā€™re going to ship adapters to everyone who has bought a Ford EV so this isnā€™t just for the future.ā€ If they were going to sell the adapter wouldnā€™t he have said something along the lines of: ā€œWeā€™re going to make an adapter...

Would you pay for a Tesla NACS retrofit?

Depends on the price and if they do a proper retrofit where the connector is in the back tail light. I'm definitely interested in a proper retrofit.
