Please consider 4.10 a mid cycle refresh, where we move around contents like Service Tab and Account page. So 4.10 is new but not all new. :)
Paak experience shouldn't have much update in 4.10. Mobile device doesn't control the walk away notification experience. It is up to the vehicle to...
@scoopman
The FordPass is still at 3.35.2, so no code change at the phone side between the OnePlus and Pixel 6. I assume OnePlus has served you well after the `RFA` update from @DevSecOps . If so, then no comparison is needed.
@DevSecOps mentioned:
> This is something I've noticed and talked...
OnePlus, to my surprise, does seem to work very well for Paak. My wife also uses OnePlus 7 for her MachE.
Maybe you have already returned the OnePlus, but it would be helpful to have a side-by-side comparison between Pixel 6 and OnePlus if you still possess the OnePlus.
You are very welcome! It happened to my iPhone/Android before until I discovered the Paak reset on the vehicle side. I tested the Paak setup process too frequently, which might have confused the vehicle. :)
Disclaimer: My PoV does not represent Ford Motor Company.
As a MachE user, my wife and I could not agree more about annoyness of seeing those Key Not Detected on the screen.
Unfortunately as @DevSecOps mentioned, FP doesn't control that part. FP can only answer when the vehicle is asking where...
For cyber security reasons, Paak constantly tries to verify the presence of keys/phones much more frequently than you might guess.
Of course, it won't shut off the vehicle while the vehicle is already in motion for safety reasons, even it cannot find the keys/phones for a brief moment.
I...
Thank you. Lots of people worried about me being hurt too much by the words. Trust me, and I read similar comments on the Google Play review dozens per day. Those comments are much shorter without an explanation of what happened to them. So I have a pretty strong heart. ?
I enjoyed coming...
I consider the FP Android team very fortunate to have you as our Developer Advocate. ???
It seems that I have a lot of readings to do today. I will get back to you on this.
A confession to make: My wife and I never knew about the `Allow all the time` location permission requirement for...
Hats off to you, Todd. You are not only capable of decompiling the apk, but you also decompile the legacy and business complication issue of FordPass. It is just an insane number of business logic combinations for different model years, ICE, PHEV, BEV, regions, countries, and legals. The list...
Tough one, very disappointing !!!
A few things you can try in the future before rebooting the phone:
1. Turn on or off the Bluetooth
2. If Step 1 is no good, then click the foreground notification banner where it says Phone as a Key trying to connect to your vehicle -> click `cancel`. Sometimes...
I was speaking with Eric, same confusion about why the key showed up in the key list, but Paak isn't working. @PaaK_Android I think our UI/UX gets more jobs to do
So Paak first downloads the key from the server/cloud, then the key will appear in the list. That doesn't mean the key can control...
Yes, we are still targeting SDK 30. Instead of upgrading things in a big bang, we take turns to upgrade the android gradle plugin, Kotlin, and SDK level. Some of them are easy, some of them take time because the FordPass codebase is enormous.
It has been a while since I worked on Paak, and I...
The battery burn is confusing for us as well.
Back in the summer, we discovered specific Android models, like Samsung, will keep sending Paak the signal that the Bluetooth is disconnected every few seconds when the vehicle is not in the range. (some other models are fine, this is one of the...
