As a rehab professional sometimes working with clients who've had neurological injuries, the parallels are fascinating. NASA is doing essentially what your brain has to do after a stroke or a traumatic head injury: re-mapping and re-configuring the system to remove a damaged set of circuits and...
Mr. Ed has 42K miles on the clock and is going in for the HVBJB recall tomorrow. Plan to keep Ed till about a week after the wheels fall off. Nice to hear from the build week gang again!
I'm pretty easy to please. I'd use the in-car navigation system a lot more if it had a couple of key features.
At the very least a navigation app should have voice commands. I don't want to stop the car and type stuff in.
Also, if I have a route planned and then ask about chargers, it'd be...
It's as close to an SUV as I've ever owned/driven.
To me it's a Mustang, and I've owned 3 previous mustangs: an '88 notchback 5.0, an '05 4.6 L GT, and a '14 6 cylinder coupe.
The registration says it's a station wagon, which amuses me greatly. Wonder if I should install a chrome roof rack...
This reads like the part could be installed backwards at the factory which strikes me as a serious design flaw. There should be no way to install the latch backwards. I'm a full time PT and part time trombonist, but engineering runs strong in the family and I can just about hear my late...
This is a great suggestion and worked well. It's how I'll do it from now on. To the casual Tesla driver, it now looks almost like I know what I'm doing. Much obliged, @Theolddog!
Also I lubricated the slide lock that locks the adaptor to the tesla cord, the tang that engages with the tesla...
LOL, I was (mostly) kidding about the orange flash. This from the inter webs: "WD-40 is not a conductor but an insulator with a low dielectric strength of 35KV. It can drive moisture out of electric components, save flooded equipment, and restore electrical connections. For sensitive...
Weird. Saying "yes" to turning off the motion sensors worked fine for me. But I had the key fob in the garage with me so maybe that's the odd variable. Maybe disabling the motion sensors works for motion in the car but not for tilting the car when the key fob is absent and the doors lock...
I have an OpenEVSE charger. It doesn't give me data as robust as the Emporia, sounds like, but I can see current draw in kilowatts on the LCD readout on the charger, and follow along on the app on my phone or laptop. The two stay in sync with each other, reporting to the hundredth of a kW...
I've only used mine once. Didn't work at first. Then I figured out the tesla plug was a tight fit in the A2Z's socket and wasn't seating fully, which didn't let the lock slide all the way closed. Once I figured that out it worked fine.
I like the idea of a little nub on the slide lock, and...
Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting a link to the full TSB! Now I can go to the dealership knowing the recall-specific part number for my ER-RWD model is NK4Z-10C666-F. Nice also to know I can walk into the dealership with the printed TSB in hand so they know I know what to expect...
Get in. Start the car up. Shut the car down. When it asks if you want to disable motion sensors, push the button that says yeah, disable motion sensors.
I know because I just changed some tires recently. ;)
For what it's worth, if you're not planning a lot of fast charging the next couple months, I would expect used aftermarket Tesla adaptors (e.g. A2Z and Leviton units) to start showing up for sale here on the forum and elsewhere when people start getting their free charger from Ford.
I got my...
Agree. For what it's worth, I found out by accident that jacking up one corner of the vehicle to rotate tires sets off the alarm, and saying yes to "do you want to disable motion sensors" will keep that from happening.
Also, leaving your unsuspecting spouse in the car without a fob while you...
