Agreed, I used to be an installer for a living and they are miles better than everything except soldering (which is a pita) I would go a step further and say I would never use the cheap taps that were sent in the kit in my own car.

What kind of rental car did they give you? Did they cover it 100%? I'm debating if I just want to drive my wife's car for a few weeks or take the rental.

That is how the original design worked, but with the zenier diode added it pulls all power from the BCM signal wire. He has us combine the signal and power wire. I'm not sure why he didnt send 2 diodes so you could still pull power from the headlight.

Is anyone else concerned that perhaps pulling full power for the pony from the BCM could cause weird issues? I really hate powering stuff directly off signaling wires coming from a BCM or computer.

Just use a 12v battery and hold the black to the negative and the red and white to the positive terminal. Ask a friend with an exposed battery if you dont have one.
