i own and commissioned the tesla charger. i have 50A breakers even though the charger is capable of using 60A breakers. when i turned it on for the first time it automatically selected 50A.
i even purposely TRIED to switch it to 60A (long story, but i was trying to test whether anyone could...
yeah i came here to say this, i don't own the chargepoint but i think virtually all these chargers can be down-rated and may even do so automatically... if you're somehow not able to do a 60A breaker you're not forced to, you'll just charge at a lower speed
what is the outside temp, what is your state of charge
i generally only get 49kw also, between 20%-80%. you only tested 1 charger, i've used maybe a dozen and it's generally always been the same. however, when the whether is warm sometimes i'll get 63kw
chargers only cost $300-500 i really think you're thinking too hard about what is an uncertain future for both the technology and what you will own personally...
rick's advice was the best, which is if you're really worried just buy the universal one from tesla. i think you could just as easily...
oh yeah, i am indeed SR...
weird that i got the letter then. ok so there is indeed no recall for SR 2021 job 1? all good then, not looking to be "eligible" for this....
I received the recall notice back in Q4 2023, but it said to wait until it's "my turn". But I went to the ford recall check website and put in my VIN and it doesn't actually have this recall listed...
I'm confused now, do I not need this? I'm a 2021 job 1 so I can't imagine why I wouldn't, but...
I noticed I haven't gotten updates in months so I went to the menu and it says not completed. I actually thought I remember seeing it completed but maybe I remember wrong.
What do I do now? Is there a way to resolve other than dealership?
i didn't realize it was a video, actually when you pressed the button the ring on the car turned white which means it stopped charging... maybe rick is right
alternatively, wait a bit longer. let the ring turn white, wait 2 sec, then pull
correct, it's just how tesla designed it with minimal foresight. to be fair to them their own cars don't seem to have this problem.
i even tried things like pressing the release button on the car, it doesn't help. the EVSE itself is button-free, another great tesla design. you could pull the...
again this doesn't seem to be true for the tesla j1772. the button on the j1772 just seems to be for the latch clip -- in fact the NACS version has no release button
@RickMachE i assume OP is talking about the tesla wallcharger with the J1772 plug and/or a J1772 adapter
i've seen this as well, it's because the tesla J1772 doesn't seem to stop when you press the button. you should pause charging from the car before you pull plug to avoid this
definitely not physical damage lol
it was covered under warranty, i am in the warranty period. my dealer had no idea how to fix it they ended up sending someone from ford, waiting for parts, etc etc. first 2 trips they kept telling me they fixed it by doing software updates, which obviously did...
i had to get my GPS antenna replaced when i had this issue
fyi when they did the fix they broke the wireless android auto so just know it might be a mixed bag. personally i think the GPS is more important
did you set for 75 during that drive earlier? if not does seem kind of weird
i have never accidentally hit the cruise control button on this car or another one, touching wood... sounds very frightening glad everyone is ok
if you're still on the 3's you almost certainly have an issue
i heard there was a fuse you could pull to try and resolve but most people seem to need a visit to the dealer?
