    Need help with valence part

The AC condensor shows signs of being hit but AC works fine, no apparent refrigerant leak. If I pay for the repairs myself, I will probably not have them touch the AC condensor, it is an aluminum brazed design and if it doesn't leak now, it's not worth replacing. However if I turn it over the...

    Need help with valence part

On 4/19/2024 about 10 PM, while driving north on I35, Minneapolis MN, there was an orange plastic traffic barrel laying on the freeway in a construction zone. Either blown over by the wind or hit by another vehicle. We ran into the barrel ( had no choice to avoid it because of traffic). I...

    Interior trunk cover

We just had our 2021 in for the Battery contactor recall. I mentioned the problems with the trunk cover and they replaced it, much better now. The car was still under warranty

23S56 HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY JUNCTION BOX HVBJB

Well, we got the recalls done, finally. For reference: We got the recall letter in Nov. 23, I contacted the dealer soon after and they said we would get a call when parts and resources were available. We got that call in late January 24, the service appointment was set for 2/9/24. We went to the...

    Is This Normal??

Regarding battery range: We had an unusual experience lately. We left town, on a trip with my ICE car and left the MME in the temp controlled garage for 4 days. When we came home the battery state of charge was about 85%. We made on short trip, with the MME, maybe 10 miles, and when we got home...

23S56 HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY JUNCTION BOX HVBJB

I called my dealer today to check on parts status. The parts are not in yet, and no ETA. This means if we had stuck with the 2/9/2024 schedule recall/service date and vehicle would still be setting at the dealer, untouched, going on 3 weeks. . . . . Sad 😭

23S56 HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY JUNCTION BOX HVBJB

This recall is a mismanaged disaster. In December 23, I got the recall letter and in late January 24, I got a call from the dealer / Ford call center to set up the recall work schedule. I specifically asked a lot of questions, how long, do you have the parts etc. The call center person...

Does anyone else find Fordpass pretty useless?

I too am retired, and I use FordPass a lot and think it is poorly designed. Of course, my opinions are a bit tainted. I was in charge of Global Product management for a $1b company, so I have some fairly strong opinions on things like this. I have the ridiculous notion that things released to...

    Cost to replace batteries?

When solid state batteries hit the market, with double the range, I wonder if there will be an upgrade market, i.e. either OEM or Aftermarket. 🤔 There is really nothing wrong with our 2021 Mach E, but battery tech is changing. I would consider an upgrade, if it was financially practical.

    Come on Ford Pass

Ford Pass is a cruel joke. In the last 60 days every time I try to adjust charging parameters on Ford Pass, it gives me the message" Sorry, Ford Pass is Not Responding, try again later." Fortunately I can still adjust charging parameters using the vehicle entry screen. However, it is annoying...

    Future Mach-E buyers, please note…

Well, Here is my analysis about owning a Mach E for 22k miles in the frozen north of Minnesota. ( Minneapolis/St.Paul metro area.) The purchasing/dealer experience: We originally ordered the car in may of 2021, right in the middle of the "post pandemic" global chaos. Supply Chain issues...

Recall Information: High Voltage Battery Junction Box (23S56)

I just got the mailed recall notice form Ford today. Now I have to wait until the dealer can get parts and has the resources to do the work. Not sure when that will happen. Considering the fact the supply chain issues have cleared up and new sales of the Mach e have declined, perhaps the parts...

Total miles after reaching full charge

After 22,000 miles my GOM on full charge indicates about the same range. Of course it will decline as our weather gets colder, currently our Minnesota temps are in the 30's to 50's range . We keep our Mach E in a heated garage, never goes below 55, not sure if that impacts the GOM calculation...

How long do you plan to keep your Mach-E?

Looking for a plug in hybrid now. Will get rid of Mach e soon unless Ford announces solid state battery upgrade. Do not want to own a vintage EV with 300 mile range when the rest of the market is twice the range.

    Is Ford Options gone?

Go to an online used car service. Lots of MachEs there at lower prices. I have seen several with low mileage, under 5,000 which still leaves you the 3 year 36k warranty and the battery system is warrantied for 8 years.

Ford hits the brakes on $12 billion in EV spending in KY

Opinion: The development cycle for cars is several years, at a cost of billions of dollars. The mad dash to build EVs moved faster than the normal economic conditions that usually mold the automotive business cycle. i.e. new technology, ( solid state batteries) interest rates, etc. It would...

[Video] Can anyone describe what the problem is with my brakes?

Thanks to all for the comments/thoughts: I my lifetime of owning dozens of cars, and fixing/replacing brakes, i.e. pads, shoes, rotors, calipers etc, many times. I have certainly seen lots of rusted parts, dust, dirt, etc. However, I do not agree with the assumption the rotors are rusting...

[Video] Can anyone describe what the problem is with my brakes?

Grinding brakes update: Last week I visited my dealer, talked to a tech writer. He said that every Mach e has grinding brakes and owners complain. When I asked what is causing it he said it was the regenerative braking. While I kinda accept the answer I still would like to have an explanation...

Ford have no fix for multiple issues

I concur with AlanJ and would add these thoughts: EVs are still a new phenomenon. As such, finding an organization or tech that really understands all of the idiosyncrasies of these things is difficult. The problem is compounded with the fact that techs are in short supply and the manufactures...

High Voltage Battery Junction Box (HVBJB) Replacement Recall for recall HVBJB in 30,013 Mach-E

Does anyone know exactly what is being replaced and what changes were made to improve reliability? I checked online and our Mach E is in the recall group. So far I have not seen or heard what is the root cause of the failures and therefore what needs to be changed to make the system better.
