Anyone wanna rent out their Tesla NACS adapter that lives around Portland, OR? I'm going on a trip next weds (4 day trip) and it would be very helpful to have such an adapter.
My adapter purchased from Ford won't arrive in time.
Thanks!
Sure, the car says I've lost 7% battery capacity (due to odometer/age). So its full battery range is reduced, i.e. if 224 mile range new, then now it'll only get 208 mile range
A third party already is testing an adapter they built using a Tesla. I forget which YouTube but the testing used a NACS to CCS, then a CCS to NACS. I'll update here if I find it.
So no, the adapter doesn't have to be built by Tesla.
On my 1st month of Mach-e ownership, I mistakenly trusted Ford nav in cold mountain driving. It said I would make it home, but mid way it found out it couldn't make it and auto routed me to a very long detour to a "nearby" charging station. But luckily I noticed it 5 mins in the detour. U turn...
Assuming lvl3 charging isn't readily available on your routes and that you want the shortest travel times.
I would suggest turn off cabin heating, and use heated blankets. And use clear plastic sheets to cover all windows except for the windshield so there is an air pocket for insulation 😁...
If you plan to keep it for a long time. Get the extended battery because after 75k miles, you'll lose about 10% of its original range. Sometimes you can find used deals advertised for $30k.
Nice, you reduced your HVAC by 32%, I think that's a noticeable chunk if you're mostly doing a lot of short trips.
But anyway, I'll be sure to use that if I'm at risk of not making it to my next charging spot in winter. Thank you!👍
