Native Californian here. Now in Nevada. I haven’t had a front plate in 20 years between the two states and never an issue. Tint on the front windows (which is illegal in CA, just the same as windshield tint is illegal) — I’ve had a “fix it ticket” once and it was a concession in lieu of a...
I'd like to put a privacy film on the windshield. Ceramic for extra heat rejection. The car has the IR glass (evidenced by the purple-ish hue in the sunlight) which rejects 50% of the heat. Theoretically, ceramic film would increase that even more.
Some say adding tint on the inside will trap...
Since the factory offset on the 18" wheels is 47.5mm, I'm worried the 42mm offset won't be sufficient for clearance.
18" x 7.0" J
5 x 108
47.5mm
So I switched to the Konig Oversteer 18", which has a +45mm offset, a few pounds lighter at 19.7 (vs 26.4 for the MSW wheel).
Gotcha - I'm guessing the 245 width had more to do with the range loss than the tread pattern?
I have a Jeep GC 4xe and noticed zero EV range difference swapping tires, but Jeeps aren't known for being engineered for efficiency.

Trying to solve for a smoother ride plus get an all weather tire (snow 5 months out of the year)
18x8 with a +42mm offset, 235/60 tires. Or can/should I go with a 245/55 tire?
Another spillover effect of the reduced tax credit, perhaps, not applying as much cap reduction? Or I thought there was a loophole for leasing that maxxed out the credit (unless that was just for ineligible manufacturers, leaving MME in the messy middle??)
Anyhow, I've owned four Tesla's. Every...
A lot. I vowed never to buy another Tesla and I found myself speccing out a car. Thank God I found a used MME at a reasonable price otherwise I might have just done that (shudders).
Love these posts, Mach-Lee. What a service they are to the community. Thank you.
I typically drive from Sacramento, CA to Reno, NV through the Donner Pass  and am a bit concerned about the MME's ability to make it on a single trip during the winter ('21 Prem ER AWD, stock 19" wheels &...
Good skip. We bought a Model Y and dumped it for a small profit last month. Harshest riding car we've ever owned. Trim pieces were falling off after a few months of ownership too. Ordered a MME and can't wait to take delivery.
