Ford NACS Adapter has shipped [and NOW ARRIVING]!

Through an incredible stroke of luck, I am order number #82 but no shipping email yet. Glad to see there is movement nonetheless. ETA: well well, I looked on my FedEx account and there was a label created today originating in Dearborn, MI...

Tesla Supercharger network now up to 66 locations with Magic Dock (4/17/24)

I think Clark, NJ just went live if I am reading the Tesla app correctly. This begs the question - will Tesla continue to retrofit magic docks now that the adapter floodgate has opened?

FAQ & Tips -- Mach-E Access to Tesla Superchargers; NACS Adapter

That's pretty cool. Incidentally - I looked around at some local superchargers; one that is (I think) a mixed installation of V2 and V3 chargers did not show up on Fordpass, so that's nice to see that we are unlikely to be routed to chargers that won't work with the adapter.

First Tesla Superchargers with "Magic Dock" CCS Adapter are online... and charged up a Rivian

So close. A Magic Dock-equipped station in Bloomington would be great; there's a supercharger there and last time I checked zero reliable CCS fast charging otherwise.

New pigtails for Webasto-made portable EVSE??

No luck, unfortunately. I finished the rest of @Mach-Lee's troubleshooting suggestions. My 14-50 outlet is good, FMC works fine with the 14-50 pigtail so doesn't seem like a configuration error on my end. It really seems like they shared plug fitments etc but the underlying hardware or firmware...

New pigtails for Webasto-made portable EVSE??

Thanks for these suggestions - yes, the adapter appears to be wired correctly; everything is indeed connected straight through without any unexpected connections when I checked continuity across plugs/prongs. The 120V pigtail works fine with the FMC; I will recheck the 14-50 pigtail but my...

New pigtails for Webasto-made portable EVSE??

Long story short, my mother-in-law is getting a Lyriq and I have been stalking their forums much like I stalked these so many years ago to figure out when I'd get my car. Much to my surprise, someone posted this link here to the Cadillac parts catalog, which appears to be an expanded range of...

This is starting to get old, fast.. Every DCFC station I hit, I’m happy if i get over 50KW.

Without knowing specifics, one other possibility: I have encountered several of those DCFC stations here in the US. I don't know who the manufacturer is, but I believe the cables are only rated for 200A - so even though the stations are rated for up to 150kW for example, you are limited to 200A...

First Tesla Supercharger location with "Magic Dock" CCS compatibility in the US potentially revealed

Very curious about this too. I rented a Model Y on vacation, and to supercharge I had to back completely up to the station until my wheels were against the concrete stop and it STILL felt like the cable was under a little tension. Actual measurements may prove me wrong but they really seem like...

    State Charging Infrastructure Plans

I was curious about Kansas too. They don't appear to have anything published or in draft form yet - this appear to be where this info will eventually be shared: https://www.ksdotike.org/charge-up-kansas Their Facebook and Twitter are pretty barren though.

Using Tesla Gen2 Mobile EVSE and NEMA kit

Neat! I've long though about doing this and have a road trip coming up where a 14-30 would be useful; glad to see it works well.

    Grizzl-E Mini Availability

They have temporarily stopped selling them, but I have thought about getting a Tesla UMC and some adapter plugs since I already have a Teslatap, and apparently the price of the UMC is dropping to something like ~$200 or so.

    Random dealership

I took a road trip down I75 last year, and initially ignored a charge stop recommended by Sync at a Harley dealer, assuming it was a slow (25-50kW) machine. I was a little annoyed I kept getting routed through them on my return trip, but this time when I actually went to read the description I...

12V and dash cam in sentry mode

@Mach-Lee had a good post about what these kinds of slow, low draws can do to the 12V and the LVB battery management system: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/has-anyone-installed-a-power-magic-battery.11823/post-291668 I was also going to hardwire a dashcam to allow sentry mode, but...

    Campground Charging--as a last resort

Can you think of a charging arrangement that would work for a TT-30 outlet? Just got back from a stay in Ludington state park with some friends -- the park campgrounds only had a handful of 50A sites which were all booked, but everyone had a 30A (120V) connection. Even 24A (for 80% draw) at 120V...

    Grizzl-e Smart

Hmmm. I signed up for dibs on the smart upgrade board for my GrizzlE Classic, but now I think maybe I'll just keep it as is - power consumption etc is interesting, but I probably shouldn't fix what isn't broken.
