tire damage or defect

8 months into ownership 4,000 miles later a bubble appeared on my front right tire. They say it’s damage not a defect and want $435 for a new tire! I’m livid! I certainly didn’t realize I would have to have insurance on my new tires. Has anyone else experienced this?
