“Sync 4A improvements coming” email details some upcoming upgrades / changes

What do you mean by frunk release. Since I've had the car I've been able to open via fordpass app or in car screen.

2021 Job 1 cars did not ship with a functional electronic frunk release. The software for it has been in production cars since 2021 Job 2. Most ‘21 Job 1 cars have not gotten a software update to enable this. Further, the cars that have gotten it enabled do not have a button in the FordPass app that operates the release. Ford has seriously dropped the ball on this.

Well, except for the case of @Jimrpa. They just locked his account out. I bet even if he gets a 2023 he won’t have an active frunk release.

I don't know the exact numbering, but I'd expect this to start the PowerUp 4.x.x update series.

I was hoping the email would include a new HVBJB so I was disappointed

nice to see changing profiles will be easier but will they work, have they actually fixed this because I really hate re syncing all the time but if I have to resync all the time They should have a button to resync the system, that will save me time

Many of us (most of us?) don't have that functionality yet. I bought my car in March 2021 and still don't have it

So, basically, after the Sync update AA and ACP will be enabled to let the center screen to functionally operate like a tablet. Brilliant

Seriously, though, I'm looking forward very much to the center knob functionality for linear adjustments to climate controls and such. All in all, very significant group of UI enhancements at this time!

Good we get some real utility updates like putting the logic my F150's ADAS system has, into the MME? The mach e is trash compared to the F150.

I guess this is the update they're talking about? I agree that the email and the page it takes you too does not really say much.

Note that there is no upgrading from "SYNC4" to "SYNC4A", this is a description of the hardware that is built in. Edit: All MME are Sync 4A anyways.

NO 2021 Job 1 cars have received an update from Ford to enable the remote frunk release. There is code floating around in the diagnostic systems that the hackers/hobbyists have been able to locate and download into their vehicles.
