How did you switch? I tried to switch to red last week and was told I couldn’t.

I switched several weeks before getting a build date. The salesperson at the dealer said he had to call up someone at Ford, which he implied was a slight nuisance for him, but then he sent me the updated build sheet with the new color. The salesperson at the dealer at which I put in my factory order for a select said he heard mixed things about switching colors resetting the eventual build date and told me not to change the color. So my guess is that there's one way salespeople can change the order that gives up your place in line and another, less well-known way that doesn't. But this is all my speculation and all before anyone gets a build date.

The inventory manager changed my color online while I sat in a chair by her desk and watched. Had no influence on the order timing. I'm in build week 5/30 in a batch that hasn't even been started yet.

My order says not scheduled, my dealer says not scheduled, Ford Chat says scheduled week of July 18 as of yesterday.
We just moved back from overseas and were unable to get Ford Chat to work with any combination of browser and VPN until we hit CONUS, so no idea when this was scheduled (if it is even true).

Started at 6/27 and bumped to 7/4, 7/11, then 7/18. I'm on 7/18 for two weeks now so hoping it might stick?? MME GT

Hello soon to be MME owners. I just wanted to provide some reference. My 2022 Mach-E Premium AWD was ordered on 06/23/21 (originally as a 2021 model). Production week was 04/04/22. Delivered to my dealer in NH on 05/26/22.

Anyone know how the incentives work?

To get the full Federal credit you have owe more than $7500 in taxes. There was one YouTube who said she only got back $1500 because of how much taxes she pays.

Well, I debated long and often about if I would end up interested in actually purchasing the vehicle when/if it ever gets built and delivered. In the end, I decided as long as the full Federal rebate is in place and price protection is honored (which implies no dealer games), I could drive it for a year and likely sell it at/above the cost I put into it, that it would be worth it by far.

Does it not just deduct from what you owe? We paid around $25k in taxes last year. The assumption I had based on some research was that it would reduce that burden by $7500.

Now if we only owed $3500 in taxes, then it would only bring that down to $0 and not refund another $3500.

As others have mentioned, this is a non-refundable tax credit. This is to say if your tax liability is less than $7,500, you will not get back the difference in cash.

However, the IRS does us a solid by applying the credit before applying withholdings. My tax liability is usually around $18 to $19 thousand. If you go to the IRS's online Withholding Calculator (something everyone should really do) to estimate your taxes for 2022 (based on your most recent pay stub), you can see how the credit will affect the amount you owe or would get back.

In my case, the credit results in a sizeable refund because my withholdings typically put me at breakeven (by design); i.e. with the credit, I'm having too much taken out of my check each month (paid monthly). I'm jealous of your utility and state credits. My state and electricity provider apparently suck

You are correct. As I said above, the IRS will apply the credit first. Credits are nice because they reduce your tax liability dollar for dollar where a deduction reduces your taxable income used to calculate your liability.

Same thing happened to me. I’m also a SEL eAWD with comfort/tech package.
