11/21/2022 Build Week Gang

I don't see a thread for this week yet.

i ordered on 8/30 and was initially assigned a 10/31 build date.

a few days ago i was bumped to 11/21/2022.

i think this probably ends my chances of taking delivery in 2022. east SF bay area. my understanding from reading these forums is that the cars take a multi-week journey by rail and truck from mexico, and delivery to the west coast can take a long time.

what do you mean by "this was by design"?

I was originally 11/14 and got bumped to 11/21 yesterday for my '23. Probably going to cancel since they offered me a '22 that's currently on a train.

There's a shutdown at the plant in December the week of 12/26 per the administrators here.

@astrorob Yeah, chances for a 2022 delivery are pretty slim. It goes by train from Mexico to Kansas City area (takes about 10-14 days) and then is put on another train to get closer to your location before being put on a convoy truck to the dealership in most situations. For example, they've bumped my '22s delivery range from 10/12-18 to 10/20-26. It's currently sitting in MO awaiting a new train to head toward Atlanta, GA. It was marked shipped on 9/28 and arrived in MO on 10/11. Hopefully it doesn't sit in MO for months like some others have had happen.

The ratio of posts between the 10/31,11/7,11/14 posts didn't match up with the 11/21,11/28 dates when scheduling first came out. Not sure the logistics behind the operation but it’s clear that they left a buffer in the last 2 weeks to bump people down

I also just joined the 11/21 club. I received this email last night around 7 PM CST. I was originally scheduled for the week of 11/14.

I’m still hoping for a 2022 delivery. Looking at the DPs in the pinned table it looks like it takes 4-5 weeks for delivery in TX. Not sure how the holidays affect the timeline though.

kind of interesting that this thread is pretty inactive compared to the others. sounds like the few of us here got really unlucky.

I'm also in this week...got an email for original production week of 11/14/22, but then shortly after that, a second email for 11/21/22 production for a CR1 ordered in late August.

Joining the gang. Refugee from 10/31 week. Ordered end of Aug. From past experience, strap in for a shifting ride on schedule and delivery. Lots of variables here to influence your delivery date but the ‘critical path’ is 11 days by train to KC and about 2 weeks from KC to your local rail head. Then a short truck ride to your dealer. So, don’t hold your breath on a 2022 delivery….but it’s possible to sneak in under the wire.

yeah - delivery in 2022 seems like a longshot. we'll have to see if the IRS gives any wiggle room on 2022 orders but since there's already a new EV tax credit for 2023 and beyond it seems like there won't be much.

loll - just got an email saying that the build has been rescheduled for the week of November 7th.

back in the running for 2022??? lord knows.

I just got moved up to 11/14. I’m probably the only guy in the world hoping mine shows up after 01 January. Lol.

i just realized that the 2023 MME is not on the IRS's list of cars eligible for the tax credit. seems like even though the new "point-of-sale" rebate only starts in 2023, the rules about which cars are eligible for tax credits at all took effect sometime in august of 2022.

shoot. well hopefully this will get worked out by april.
