12v battery recall

Have you guys heard about a battery recall? Someone posted on another site that dealer would not sell 2021 due to battery recall. I figured you guys would be in the know. Thanks

I haven’t heard of a recall, but I know a number of MMEs have been delivered with dead 12V batteries due to the chip & shipping delays. My MME was delivered in January 2022 with a second one and both had to wait for replacement batteries before they could be picked up.

I checked and there is no 12V battery recall. There was a subframe bolt recall, a seat belt recall, a windshield/roof glass recall, and hold if the vehicle hasn't had the BlueCruise map update yet.

The vehicle may have arrived with a dead 12V battery and they are waiting on a new one, but not because of a recall. In this situation I recommend you ask the dealer to attempt to charge the 12V battery overnight and update the software, that may fix it or it could be a bigger issue.

I guess the guy’s dealer can’t tell the difference between a parts shortage and a recall. The 12V battery is in short supply and the choice of such a small battery is questionable, but it’s not currently subject to recall.

Totally different issue. OP asked about a 12v battery recall, which has never happened.
