Had to do a double take. I'm 02426.#2462 checking in
They pull a block of VINs and assign them to a BIW when it is made. It doesn’t necessarily relate to when it goes down final assembly. They have a storage system of several hours/days worth of BIW that get pulled into production based on the trim/options that are possible to run on the production line based on parts availability, scheduling, and final assembly/trim operation capacity. Not sure this sounds right. Mine was only built 5th Nov 2022, and it's 63910... That would imply between 5th Nov 2022 and last week when they announced 150k, that they did ~90k builds in 2-3 weeks.
The number may also be based on region. Mine is destined for UK.
Ahhh got it, ok! Makes sense. They pull a block of VINs and assign them to a BIW when it is made. It doesn’t necessarily relate to when it goes down final assembly. This is the closest that I have seen to a valid sequence number. My car is E02577, originally scheduled for 9/27/21 build week, pushed back twice. Sequence numbers have nothing to do with trim or model; it’s per plant and model year. If there were Explorer EVs being produced at Cualtitlan, an MME and an Explorer could very well have sequential numbers.GTPE 7/21 build. ME00519.
