I feel I owe this report to Ford Motor Co. and promised myself to do so at 40K miles. So here it goes...
I am not an amateur driver, but a "seasoned" one with 36 years of driving experience. My first Ford vehicle was a 1988 Mustang LX 5.0, 5 speed with the optional 3.08 rear differential. My last was a late model 7 series BMW with almost every bell and whistle. In between I have driven all other series BMWs including their SUVs, vehicles from Mercedes, Lexus, Infiniti, Honda, Toyota, Mazda, GM and Tesla. So you can say, I have a "reference point" when I compare the Mach E to other vehicles and Ford to other car companies. I also drive quite a bit. I average 20K miles yearly commuting to my office and back. But enough about me, now on to the Mach E.
First of all, I believe that a lot of people take the time to complain on these forums, and not enough people post much praise. Therefore, I want to thank FMC for manufacturing such an amazing, technologically advanced vehicle. I have enjoyed driving every one of the 40K miles on my Mach E GTPE. I enjoy the responsiveness, handling, and smoothness of every one of my drives. The Mach E feels solid and composed. I don't hear any rattles, squeaks or anything else that would disturb the serene atmosphere of its cabin. Things are as "tight" in the cabin as the day I drove it off the dealer's lot. (Excellent quality control Ford!)
I drive almost exclusively in "one pedal" mode. (It's amazing how the human mind can adapt to that form of driving after driving an ICE vehicle for so long.)
The fit and finish of my Mach E is top notch. The materials used in its cabin are superior quality, and have held up well after 40K miles. No sign of excessive wear anywhere. I have not needed to change tires yet because I bought a set of winter rims and tires that I swap out seasonally with the summer Pirellis that came on my car. Hence, I don't need to go in to the dealership for the 10K miles services since they only rotate the tires and fill the windshield washer fluid. All of the over the air updates that I received have installed flawlessly, including Blue Cruise 1.3 (My car is a July '22 built Mach E). I have not dealt with the High Voltage Junction Box recall since I never received the error message. I've had to have my Mach E serviced only twice during my 40K miles of driving. First service was for a blown out rear passenger tire that hit a metal object on the freeway (replaced under warranty with no questions asked). The second was for a "door sensor fault, service required" message. That required replacement of my rear driver door latch mechanism (under warranty). The Mach E was at the dealership for about a week and I was given a brand new Ford Edge as a loaner in the meantime.
Hence, my overall experience with my Ford Mustang Mach E has been phenomenal! As a previous mostly luxury brand driver (lately), I don't feel that I have "downgraded" in any way driving a Ford product. It's too bad that you don't see the Ford logo much on this version of the Mustang (I think it's only on the glass, but nowhere else on the exterior). Ford Motor Company should be very proud of the Mach E. It has converted this ICE driver into an EV driver, maybe for the rest of my driving years. The way things are going, I plan to put many more miles and years on this first generation Mach E. Ford has come a very long way from my first Pony back in 1988. Keep it up Ford, and I'll keep coming back for more!

I have everybody here beat. My first Ford was a 1956 crown, Victoria, hardtop, orange and white

I’m at 40 years on the road and I’m very happy after 6 months with my Mach-e. Being an old timer you might get this!: I love the simple fact it has a long hood. Back in the 80s I just hated the short and disappearing hoods of new cars. For decades I only had cars with big motors and long hoods.
Exactly this. My first two cars were a '77 Mercury Cougar and a '75 Ford LTD. My last two were each a Ford Fusion. I hope Ford will make an electric sedan some day.

You're not going to want to hear this, but you're a beige wall normal North American car driver.

You are correct. And I don’t mind hearing that but embrace it! And the Mach E serves my purpose and my needs in North America. It works for me. There’s nothing wrong with that nor do I impose it on you. Live and let live… It may be beige to you, but beige is peaceful to me. It may also be boring or normal, but boring or normal is a luxury to some.

I've been driving for 60 years (do I win)? Everything from a 1954 Dodge with a slush-o-matic transmission to a Jaguar XKE to the Mach E. Before buying the MME I thought my Chevy Volt was the best electric (PHEV) vehicle made. I owned a Honda Clarity PHEV after that and the Volt put it to shame. But the MME is probably the best vehicle I have ever owned. Certainly the best electric (PHEV or EV) vehicle. I'm looking forward to what EV Ford has to offer in 2026.

I am 57 years of enthusiastic driving, mostly muscle and performance cars. My MME GTPE has 24,000 miles of two year driving. When asked, I ALWAYS say the MME is the best car I have ever owned. I've had a few normal issues, but have always had a good experience with the service and support from FORD dealerships. I would gladly buy one again, and again, and again....

Been driving since 1985 (ooh, skinny ties and Member's Only Jackets). 1st ride was a 1968 Mustang Coupe. Then on to hand-me-down Toyota Carolla (brown and beige - non chick magnet, ouch!). First semi-adult car Chevy Blazer (3 year lease) and then when the kids showed up we went hard into Kia's (minivan, SUV-Borrego, Optima and currently both kids have a Sportage).

That being said, my MME has been virtually flawless. She has provided me with reliability and FUN!!! Best car with the coolest tech. 30,000 miles in. I did the HVJB replacement even though I never had the issue. Just did a quick 3.5 hour up and back this weekend and used the Tesla charger!!! Boom, love it. If I were to give Ford some advice it would be...........1. Offer one non-GT with a magnaride, your suspension for those of us born in the 60's is a little firm and 2. Even the Model 3 has a ventilated seat now, C-mon man!! :)

Reading this gives me some hope. My 23 GTPE had a bad hvbjb at 2 months old. It’s fixed but have had a rattle since they replaced the hvbjb. Going back to the dealer tomorrow for the second time to diagnose the rattle. They replaced a broken fender flare clip the first time but it didn’t fix the rattle.

I really do like the car overall though. It’s fits my daily work travel pretty well. Haven’t hit winter yet so curious to see how my mileage goes then. Typically do 180 miles or less per day so hopefully I can just charge from home and maybe top off to get home a few times during the longer driving days.

I had my roof tinted with 3M Crystalline and it works great.

I also got some seat covers from Inch empire on Amazon.

Happy with both products.

We love it, Pat! And we love seeing the Ford Family make the Mach-E their own.
