I have everybody here beat. My first Ford was a 1956 crown, Victoria, hardtop, orange and whiteI feel I owe this report to Ford Motor Co. and promised myself to do so at 40K miles. So here it goes...
I am not an amateur driver, but a "seasoned" one with 36 years of driving experience. My first Ford vehicle was a 1988 Mustang LX 5.0, 5 speed with the optional 3.08 rear differential. My last was a late model 7 series BMW with almost every bell and whistle. In between I have driven all other series BMWs including their SUVs, vehicles from Mercedes, Lexus, Infiniti, Honda, Toyota, Mazda, GM and Tesla. So you can say, I have a "reference point" when I compare the Mach E to other vehicles and Ford to other car companies. I also drive quite a bit. I average 20K miles yearly commuting to my office and back. But enough about me, now on to the Mach E.
First of all, I believe that a lot of people take the time to complain on these forums, and not enough people post much praise. Therefore, I want to thank FMC for manufacturing such an amazing, technologically advanced vehicle. I have enjoyed driving every one of the 40K miles on my Mach E GTPE. I enjoy the responsiveness, handling, and smoothness of every one of my drives. The Mach E feels solid and composed. I don't hear any rattles, squeaks or anything else that would disturb the serene atmosphere of its cabin. Things are as "tight" in the cabin as the day I drove it off the dealer's lot. (Excellent quality control Ford!)
I drive almost exclusively in "one pedal" mode. (It's amazing how the human mind can adapt to that form of driving after driving an ICE vehicle for so long.)
The fit and finish of my Mach E is top notch. The materials used in its cabin are superior quality, and have held up well after 40K miles. No sign of excessive wear anywhere. I have not needed to change tires yet because I bought a set of winter rims and tires that I swap out seasonally with the summer Pirellis that came on my car. Hence, I don't need to go in to the dealership for the 10K miles services since they only rotate the tires and fill the windshield washer fluid. All of the over the air updates that I received have installed flawlessly, including Blue Cruise 1.3 (My car is a July '22 built Mach E). I have not dealt with the High Voltage Junction Box recall since I never received the error message. I've had to have my Mach E serviced only twice during my 40K miles of driving. First service was for a blown out rear passenger tire that hit a metal object on the freeway (replaced under warranty with no questions asked). The second was for a "door sensor fault, service required" message. That required replacement of my rear driver door latch mechanism (under warranty). The Mach E was at the dealership for about a week and I was given a brand new Ford Edge as a loaner in the meantime.
Hence, my overall experience with my Ford Mustang Mach E has been phenomenal! As a previous mostly luxury brand driver (lately), I don't feel that I have "downgraded" in any way driving a Ford product. It's too bad that you don't see the Ford logo much on this version of the Mustang (I think it's only on the glass, but nowhere else on the exterior). Ford Motor Company should be very proud of the Mach E. It has converted this ICE driver into an EV driver, maybe for the rest of my driving years. The way things are going, I plan to put many more miles and years on this first generation Mach E. Ford has come a very long way from my first Pony back in 1988. Keep it up Ford, and I'll keep coming back for more!
