2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Teased By Athletes At Golf Tournament

We’ve seen plenty of the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E in the weeks leading up to its forthcoming launch next month. The Blue Oval’s first-ever all-electric crossover entered production weeks ago as well, so it won’t be long before we begin seeing them pop up on the roads. However, a group of pro athletes had the chance to drive the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E recently at The Match: Champions for Change golf tournament at the Stone Canyon Golf Club in Arizona this past weekend.
Those names included former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning, legendary golfer Phil Mickelson, and current and former NBA superstars Stephen Curry and Charles Barkley. Each of them was able to take a spin in a “near-production” Ford Mustang Mach-E, which are currently in the final review process before the vehicle is officially released to the public.

Ford played a key sponsorship role in the golf challenge, which presented the perfect opportunity for the automaker to show off the new Mach-E. The vehicle was on display at various points along the course, along with Mach-E emblems scattered around as well. And as an added bonus, the pro athletes all posted pictures of their rides on social media for the world to see.
When the dust settled, Mickelson and Barkley defeated Curry and Manning. But the real winners, aside from the Ford Mustang Mach-E and its marketing efforts, were Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The Match: Champions for Change benefit raised an estimated $4.5 million for HBCUs, as well as quite a bit of awareness.

In addition, Ford announced at the conclusion of the challenge that it would be donating an E-Transit van to Feeding America. “When you think about the two areas – helping with hunger and promoting historically Black colleges and universities, that was something really worth getting behind,” Mark Truby, chief communications officer at Ford, told the Detroit Free Press. “It lines up with our values, helping with hunger when so many people are suffering and hurting. We are moved to be a part of that.”
