I was looking at a 2021 Premium ER/AWD and really Route 1 was off the table due to the lack of AWD and heated seats and steering wheel.

In doing the pricing configurations on Ford the 2022 Premium ER/AWD comes to 56,295. The Route 1 adding the AWD comes in at 53970? What features am I missing that appear to make the Route 1 now the better pricing option?

Power Lift Tailgate is manual on the Route 1
Sound system appears to be different, not B&O in Route 1
Wheels are 18" in Route 1

What else?

Seems like they have positioned the Route 1 even with the AWD option to be a better value than Premium?

Surely I'm missing something more..

Thanks, Carbon02

Interior Color choice and perforated seats. I got the light grey interior which is not available on any other model except premium and ice white.. ,,

Rt1 does not have these Premium features:
  1. Acoustic Laminate Glass – Front-Row Side Windows
  2. Ambient Lighting – Multi-Color
  3. Perforated ActiveX™ Seating Material (choice of Light Space Gray too)
  4. Front Door Scuff Plates – Aluminum Inserts with Pony Graphic and Unique Lettering
  5. LED Projector headlights with LED Signature Lighting (the 3 vertical LED on the headlights and the sweeping front turn signal, Rt1 just blinks on the front)
  6. B&O® Sound System by Bang & Olufsen® 10 Speakers including Subwoofer
  7. Head Restraints – Four-Way Manually Adjustable Driver and Front-Passenger
  8. 8-Way Power Passenger seat (Fore/Aft, Up/Down, Power Lumbar, Power Recline)
  9. Hands-Free, Foot-Activated Liftgate (includes Power Liftgate functionality)
  10. Wheels – 19" Machined-Face Aluminum with High Gloss Black-Painted Pockets

On the plus side, the CR1 has that cool emblem. Seriously, that emblem is cool. I wish my car had something similar.

You could buy one and stick it on your FE just to confuse people. ??

I currently have a Route 1 that I freaking love. I don't miss any of the Premium features noted above and always thought it had plenty of power, but I recently test drove the AWD Premium while my car was getting its 10k service. The difference on paper between the Premium AWD (4.8) and my Route 1 (6.1) from 0-60 is only 1.3 seconds... But man it was like night and day. I'm looking to place an order for a second Mach E, and definitely leaning toward the Route 1 with eAWD.

More true than you know. I literally told my friends and sister that have Mach e's on order due to seeing my route 1, that test driving the AWD was a huge mistake... Gonna cost me an extra $2700+tax on my second MME for my wife's car (which will become my car lol) ?

The range hit didn't sit well with me just going with AWD so it was another $7,700 if I decided I had to have the extra acceleration. ?

As much as I jokingly complain about testing the AWD with friends/family, there's no way I'm waiting 6 months for a 2022 to replace my wife's X1 (that we hate). It honestly opens up more doors for me to grab an MME off the lot in the interim, since I will expand my search to include more models (previously just looking for Route 1s or RWDX Premiums). I'm just really hoping the dealer doesn't call me about an abandoned GT, cuz this former hypermiller suddenly has a taste for the sub 5 second 0-60 world ?‍♂
