Hi everyone,

I know the wait times are currently very long due to supply shortages, do you think at this point it's better to hold off another year or so and see what the 22 MME would look like. When would the next model year for this car even come out? Or is the GT the only '22 version?

Only thing im worried about is the possibility of the federal tax credit $7,500 phasing out. However, I've seen that ford only expects to sell 5,000 (or 7,000?) MME and the credit expires at 200k EVs sold. I don't know how well Ford's other EVs have sold.

You are off by a factor of 10. Ford is building over 6,000 Mach Es each month. First year production is expected to be 50,000 with about 1/2 (maybe more than 1/2) going to EU/UK. Even so, Ford will have plenty of credits through delivery of the first year of the F-150 Lightning (comes out next summer).

thanks for the clarification its 5-6k/month not per year. But since its a phase out method (im just now remembering about the tesla phase out and how there was always a huge rush during the quarter after they hit the delivery numbers) theres no rush and even if they hit 200k still time to try to snag one.

Any details on when a possible refresh might be? Car just came out but will they have a new model every year or go the tesla approach and update whenever the CEO feels like it

Total speculation, but I doubt we see any changes in 2022 since the backlog is so deep.
I agree, maybe a couple new colors, but the second model year after a new launch likely wouldn’t get meaningful changes.

Based on Ford and other car companies' history, expect a minor refresh in about 3 years and a major upgrade in more like 5 years.

I hear they are putting ambient LED lighting in the back seat of the 2022 model.

I thought the announced EU/NA split was 35K/15K because of Ford’s need to meet EU carbon mandates?

New and notable for 2022 MME - Ventilated Seats
Ventilated seats will have me seriously interested ?

IIRC it was about 30K/20K way back when. Yes, that estimate was due to EU carbon mandates. A lot of things have changed since then, so I'm not sure that is still correct. I'm fairly confident the larger piece will go to EU/UK. We'll know at the end of the model year where it actually falls.

Hmm I wouldnt mind seeing if there are any new colors. Wanted something in blue, but they remove any blue options except on the GT.
