Guess what less people burning gasoline means more oil to use for other things.

The other goal and most important goal of the new rebate are creating jobs and encourage car manufacturing in the US. And guess what VW and hyundai are building EV factories here because imported EVS cant compete with domestic because of the rebate
Except that those things were planned long before this rebate was passed.

https://media.vw.com/en-us/releases/1668

VW announced it last March, which means they planned it a long time before that even.

https://electrek.co/2022/05/20/hyun...rst-dedicated-ev-facilities-coming-to-the-us/

Hyundai announced last May.

And the inflation reduction Act? It passed in August.

These things were happening WITHOUT the rebate.

Lol that’s some backwards logic right there. 😂

Another more reasonable way to look at it:

A complete waste of money paying people to do something they were already going to do no matter what.

saying they were going to build it in the future and actually doing it now is better. The rebate definitely sped up their plans :)

The US needed to do the tax incentive now unless you want every ev to be made in china. china has been subsidizing their ev industry and is now the largest ev producer in the world. Would be a matter of time before they start selling here.

So as a result of this decade of tax credits, one auto manufacturer plans to build their plant here 1 year sooner?

I guess it’s “something,” which is better than nothing. Still not a good ROI for our tax dollars.

You said, “The US needed to do the tax incentive now unless you want every ev to be made in china.”

Come on, you don’t seriously believe that statement, do you?

When the first bill failed……… many EV factories STILL were planned to be built in the US. But feel free to say “I told you so,” when even 1% of vehicles sold in America were built in China.

The 27.5% tariff China puts on our cars sold there Help us want to return the favor if they ever started sending cars our way.

I just don’t believe that this bill has any measurable effect on Chinese built cars in the US market.

I'm sure this question has been asked and answered, but I admittedly am not going through 59 pages of posts :).

I took delivery of my 2023 MME on 12/27/22. Before taking delivery I read and was under the impression that it would qualify for the $7,500 tax credit since I took delivery in 2022. Now I'm not seeing 2023 MY on the IRS website under Fords "qualifying vehicles."

https://www.irs.gov/credits-deducti...d-clean-vehicles-purchased-in-2022-and-before

Does anyone know if a MY 2023 delivered in 2022 qualifies for the $7,500 credit?

You are good to go.

IRS will update later than sooner.

My CA state rebate just updated with the '23 MME so it takes awhile for governments.

Taking my $7500 credit next month for a fat refund on the Lightning I got in July '22.

If the car makes a beeping sound in reverse, it should qualify as an SUV 😂

Lots of sickness on this board.
You must be new to the internet. This is hardly unique to the Mach-E, or these kinds of online forums.
