Is it known definitively if the heat pump in the 2025 models is used for the seat heaters? I would think that resistive heating would be a more likely choice from an engineering and cost perspective. And surely for the heated steering wheel as well. I'm not trying to suggest that the efficiency of the heat pump is lost if resistive seat heating is used. Mostly just curious.

The heat pump is absolutely not used for seat heaters or steering wheel heating. I don’t even know how that would work.
Definitely not for the heated steering wheel, but I'm thinking there must be an air channel for the ventilated seats, and they might have come up with a way to duct warm air from the heat pump. But the GT doesn't have ventilated seats, and I was thinking of the Premium model when I posted.

Edit: BTW, have they given you a delivery date for your '25 MME GT? I get a little closer to pulling the trigger on one every day.

No, the seats are resistive heating elements, not ducted from the heater.

Ventilated seats have an independent fan on the seat and they’re not connected to the HVAC system.

And no it hasn’t been built yet. It seems even built 2025s are on hold for some reason with no solid ETA.

12v systems are not the systems that consume mass power.
They are tiny compared to power consumed by the HV battery.....ie resistive heater for your HVAC/climate system. The new heat pump is for that side of the system.
