Why would you assume that? I've never lost a FORScan change after an update.
I lost power meter after IPC update. Hands free liftgate is under BCM so its likely.

I guess it depends if your As-Built changes are written back to Ford. For some reason, mine always have been but I've heard reports of others that have not. Not sure why.

Several people have asked if any 2022's have received this update. I have a January 2022-build GT and received this update several weeks ago.

Can confirm lost the hands free kick gate function from forscan
Welp I guess I gotta dig my windows laptop out, get it updated and apply for a new license. Anyone add handsfree back after this change? Does it require APIM & BCM changes or just BCM?

To minimize impacts, I'd suggest disabling Bluetooth before going to bed and then turning it back on the next morning. As an alternative to shutting off Bluetooth, you can temporarily revoke location permissions when the app is not open and fully quit the FordPass app (so it can't run in the background). Or park the car 100' away from your house down the street so you can leave Bluetooth on.

The BMS data quality issue is rare so most people don't have to worry about it. With normal usage, the BMS will function just fine. But the issue is present in your case. Hard to say why, but most commonly due to excessive wake events or high key-off 12V drain.

The steps are thorough to cover all known edge cases that prevent success.
I just can not get this update to Install. I left the car undisturbed Sunday night, with all the conditions you mentioned. And it still has failed every night this week to install.

Today, I had the opportunity at work to park well over 200 feet away, made sure the Ford app was closed (I don't use any other kind of apps or widgets), turned off my phones bluetooth all day. Took the long way home, and drove for 45 minutes. Immediately hit the Update now button and ran inside the house to deposit my keys and phone as far away as possible. I ran back to the garage to see what it would do, and it still failed.

Big center screen counted down, went to Processing Update, about 30 seconds later the drivers screen came on, grey screen except PARK in Red. That screen went dark, then big screen flashed to the Postponed screen like I see every morning when it fails.

My 12V battery is less than 3 months old, and I am able to get the SOC up in the 90's using the Blower Charge method. Can I try the BMS Reset steps? Or something else to get this to install? If this update doesn't install, it doesn't seem like I'll get anything else.

In my head, I already know how it's going to go if I bring it to the dealership to try and diagnose and fix.

I was in the same situation you described... Battery was replaced in late February.

I did a BMS reset a few nights ago and almost 24 hours later (which includes multiple commute related drives and parked at work all day etc), the update finally succeeded.

I reset the BMS by doing the following: accessory power on, flash headlights 3x, press brake 5x, and wait for battery icon in dash to flash three times. Then I turned off the vehicle.

What does resetting the BMS do exactly? Is it worth doing it as a preventative step even if you've been getting OTAs fine?

I don't know. This is the first time I'd ever tried it. My assumption is that the dealer was supposed to do a BMS reset when they replaced the LVB and they may have skipped that step.

It's still failing on bad data quality. Not sure what's up, a forgotten app (perhaps used in the past) might be pinging your car or you could have an excessive 12V standby drain. At this point you can try the BMS reset in the failed OTA guide, followed by another 8 hour rest period before attempting the OTA again.

It resets the battery learned aging and capacity parameters. Do not reset the BMS unless you have a valid reason for doing so, because resetting it at the wrong time or failing battery could cause an OTA to brick your car. So NO, don't do it preventively. I recommend people only reset it when I tell them to.

Brick our cars? What do you mean by that? You mean the battery dies and it will not boot? That is nothing new been there done that a number of times.

AKA "Update Not Successful" message because the 12V battery died during the OTA and you now have to get your car towed to the dealer to fix the software and unbrick. The car cannot be driven in this state.

Having your car brick is not "nothing" to most people.

So, it did work fine after I redid the FORScan codes. However the forscan codes looked the same as before. So not sure if maybe i missed the sensor when i waved my foot underneath. It does work after the update and Forscan Flash
