3 phase charging
Hi,
I posted this on the Reddit sub and they suggested that I try here:
I installed a 3 phase charger that charges up to 22Kw. 32A on each of the 3 phases @ 240v per phase.
I am told that the max for the MachE is 11Kw.
So, 16A on each phase. The car is taking 16A on phase L1 and 16A on phase L2 but nothing on phase L3. It is reading full 240V on each phase. The charger company were excellent in sending me another charger straight away but it is doing the same thing. Any ideas?
I am thinking a faulty charging port. Or maybe the charger in the car? The 6 connections on the port are L1 L2 L3 N, just as in a 3 phase plug, and 2 communication ports I presume. Does the 3 phase charger just deliver mains voltage to a charger in the car? The car takes the full 32A available from my single phase charger, it would probably would take more if it got it but will only take 16 from each phase on the 3 phase charger so I think it is recognising the 3 phase charger and limiting the current to 16A on all phases.
