I just got a 3D printer (Bambu Lab A1) and I finally made the MagSafe (Qi2) charger I’ve always wanted for the car.
No visible cords or pucks! The best part is, it charges faster and consistently. Links to the models below.
It took a bunch of test prints to get the shape, pattern, and cord trough right.
Printed in PLA. I tried TPU, but the quality of the texture on the mat was not as good. The part the phone sits on needed to be super thin where the puck is to get the magnets to hold well, so that texture was achieved using a textured bed plate.
I bought a slim USB C connector to make the bend up to the port and the Apple MagSafe puck plugs into that.
