Same here if it’s just me in the car. Anyone else who has their phone connected to the car at the same time, it becomes a train wreck. Sometimes even rebooting Sync doesn't help!
Hope you get 4.1.2 quickly. It was about three weeks after 4.1.1 for me.
What’s “the hack”.
Mine is doing the same damn thing with Android Auto, and it's really annoying. Every time I put AA on the main screen for the map (which is what I want most of the time), it comes up in split screen with the map on top and my contacts on the bottom. I have to hit the map icon to get the map to fill the whole AA screen. That's fine once, BUT, any time I switch to another screen (like the radio/SXM screen every time I want to see the station name and Artist now since it's no longer on the tile), when I switch back to AA the damn thing reverts back to the split screen again (map on top, contacts on bottom), and I have to hit the map button again to full-screen it. Aargh! I can't find anything in settings to fix it. I don't want to see Contacts, I just want it to come up the way I last left it (full screen map).I'm not in EA, so who knows I'll get this. But I'm pretty psyched for these three things: Camera button, larger Carplay, and more uses for the touchscreen knob (which I love using now with the 5Spurs metal cover!). I'm not bothered at all by the tradeoffs with the tiles or renaming or anything else that people are complaining about.
I'd say the one thing that I'm mildly concerned about is Carplay's "split screen" mode, where you can have multiple Carplay apps side by side. Carplay does some magic to arrange/reformat those windows in split screen mode and it's based on the aspect ratio of Carplay. When Carplay is in it's smaller format (which is no longer available in 4.1.2) then Carplay's "split screen" navigation window is nice and tall. But when it's in the larger format, the navigation window is short and wide. For navigation I find that tall is way more useful than wide, and I'm guessing it's won't be available anymore.
That's an AA update they started rolling out recently.
That's what I've just been reading. It appears the new Sync format triggered the new AA too.
It's a coincidence. I'm driving an Edge with Power-Up 3.5.3 and the Android Auto switchover just happened this morning for my phone. Nothing changed on this rental vehicle.
