4.1.2 stuck in full screen mode

I’m reading through threads and worried that my screen may be stuck in full screen mode.

This may be what people refer to as portrait mode. Unfortunately, there isn’t an option to shrink this up. I’m not a fan of this mode as the CarPlay icons are now at the bottom and not close to eye level when I want to change things. Also, for navigation I’m forced to look lower than I’d like.
Is there anyway to switch this to the half-screen mode? I’ve searched all the menus and am going crazy.

Apple at fault here too since they could have a toggle to switch between sizes, why don’t you use the other CarPlay view where it’s horizontal along the top?

It‘s not just CarPlay. It’s the entire Sync system. There is no other view anymore.

No I know, this dude is complaining about CarPlay though and there’s another view in CarPlay with a different layout but still full screen

I’m surprised they would remove functionality.

There is as much removed as added with this update. In this case I’m presuming they did it so they didn’t have to support 2 size apps and changing size for CarPlay and AA. Basically they’re lazy.

Nah man I’m complaining about sync. There are three CarPlay views. This view. Another now playing view and an app view. Two of the three the CarPlay buttons are on the bottom. There isn’t a CarPlay view with CarPlay on top. When sync used to have the 1/2 screen options everything was viewable in the top half and buttons were on the top left which is eye view. Removing the functionality to switch between full and half screen is a big miss.

Yes, no view addresses that. And not a fan of the other view as it doesn’t provide as much view as what’s ahead as did the other orientation in half screen.

Not anymore. This is the view even if you go to the 3 app view. Same location for the app icons and same size window.
