Damn it, now I'm anxious for my car :D. Seeing GTs get delivered got me all worked up. I was content and ready to wait until next month, but now I'm checking my email and logging to Ford every day again.
All safe and sound at the dealer. Unfortunately won't be ready for delivery today and I'm leaving the country for a week, but at least no more tracking!

That looks like the same build as mine. If you want I'll go make sure it gets home safely! ;)

I was finally content with my 8/14 estimated delivery, and then out of nowhere I asked chat yesterday for my train location and they said it had no train data because it was on a truck for the dealer...this whole ride has been wild.

They did say I for sure have the old HVBJB part#, so I wouldnt mind someone going and giving it the beans in the dealer parking lot to break it while I'm gone so I get a new part by the time I'm back ?

Doesn't look like I'm gonna get lucky on an early delivery. Let's just hope it stays within the projected date range at this point.

Is anyone currently tracking their delivery? I'm tempted to contact Ford to get the railcar, but the estimated delivery is only a few weeks away.

I have been watching mine and it is quite sad. My car was unloaded from the railcar on July 10th in Mira Loma, CA (Only an hour or so from my dealer)... yet there it sits! Projected ETA was July 15-21... Now it has been pushed to the 25th. Talked to my dealer today he said recently there’s been a shortage of truck drivers so there’s currently a line out there for the new vehicles to be picked up.

Not to make the wait feel any longer, but first impressions of the GT are absolutely amazing - it has really not been oversold one bit. Pedal calibration is perfect, there's never a time where I feel like it misunderstood what I wanted to do - and in one pedal I've only hit the brakes once in 200 miles. The only "quirk" I've noticed is that whisper is still fast as shit. Like, still faster than anything else on the road. I guess I was just expecting even less.

It's also surprisingly difficult to close the frunk. I lowered the bump stops but it still feels like too much effort is required.

The only thing I wish is that we could upgrade to the magnaride suspension on the GT as the ride can be harsh at times on bad roads. I just didn't like the GTPE's interior as much hence going with the GT.

Car looks great, and I'm super jealous! Do you plan on doing any ceramic coating or PPF?

I had done a ceramic coating on my previous black truck and while it was great at protecting from swirl marks and made cleaning very easy, it didn't protect from road debris at all. So I think I'm gonna try PPF this time around on atleast the front facing surfaces.

Exactly. This is why I'm gonna PPF the entire front bumper as well as the hood. Then ceramic over the entire car.

Looks sweet!!! I agree about the interior I much preferred it personally on the GT over the GTPE :) Could someone explain what PPF is compared to ceramic?

Think of PPF as just wrapping your car in a clear wrap instead of a color. This protects the paint from things like minor scratches and chips.

Ceramic is like adding another layer of clear coat paint (in simple terms). It's really a glass like layer that helps with minor swirls and makes it easier to clean.

Thanks! So if you wrap a car in a color, is that also PPF? I was thinking of doing that to mine when it comes.

Yes and no, but mostly no. PPF (Paint Protection Film) is thicker than vinyl (color) wrap, where as vinyl wrap is more about changing the color of your car. PPF will usually cost more as well (if you were to wrap the whole car which is totally not needed).

With vinyl wrap you will get protection from scratches and rock chips since the paint is covered, but at a lesser degree. So wrapping is still a good idea, specially if you want to change the color for fairly cheap.
