I use Apple Maps (CarPlay) to show Tesla SuperChargers, while I'm driving. As you can see, my closest SuperChargers are 33 minutes away and they are V3 chargers that I can charge at. In fact every one of those listed there are V3 charging stations. I only have Teslas's SuperChargers, Electrify America and EVgo selected as favorites for Charging Networks in Maps.

How do you filter for V3 & V4 chargers ?

I tried using Google Maps and it showed everything (V2 and up).
Since our Ford will not charge on V2 towers - I ended up using Tesla's app & map..

I doubt it filters for V3 and V4 chargers. I just know that the ones closest to me that it shows on that list happen to be V3 chargers. They are all fairly new. I ask Siri to show Tesla SuperChargers and I get the closest ones.

Ford Navigation will eventually include Tesla stations, but in the meantime, the Charge Assist / Public Charging app does work in locating Tesla SC locations but will not work while in motion.
Have to pull over and park to use the app.

While in motion, I use the Tesla app to show me where SuperChargers are compatible with my EV (non Tesla) as some locations we can't use.

I tried Google Maps and they will list ALL the SC locations but some are not compatible with Ford as they are older V2 chargers.
I really really really want that "Charge Assist" app (recently renamed "Public Charging") but I cannot figure out how to get it.

Yes, I just did a quick test and Apple Maps showed one of the Superchargers that isn't open to non-Tesla vehicles.

Thereā€™s a charger in baker, CA that has just as many, if not more - I was shocked when I saw how many there were. I drove by so many stations like this on our trip to CA from Denver and I weeped because there were so empty superchargers while I had to wait at a few EA stations to charge. Vegas was probably the worst though- I shouldā€™ve bought the A2z adapter for Vegas alone lol

The sad part is that we canā€™t use the one in Baker, theyā€™re not open to non-Teslas. :(

Ah that sucks. They do have 12 EA chargers there too. Iā€™ve never seen that many functioning EA chargers in one place ever lol

I do understand why more people buy Teslas in CA now after my road trip. Relying on public charging in SoCal with no Tesla supercharger access was miserable.

For someone who has waited for EA stations in Baker, I found a little known area just 1/2 mile north at EVGo with 6 DCFC stations.

It's where the tallest thermometer is located.

There is a small tourist store connected to it with snacks, beverages and souvenirs.
They even have a camera pointed at the chargers to let you see while you visit.

It's easiest doing it via the website.

https://www.tesla.com/findus

Superchargers = Tesla only
Superchargers Open to Other EVs = MagicDocks
Supercharger Open to NACS = Adapter-capable

You can do it in the Tesla app too but it's a tad trickier. First make sure you have a non-Tesla registered as your vehicle in the app. Then there's a spot that asks if you have an adapter. If you say No, you'll see only MagicDocks. If you say Yes, you see both MDs + Adapter stations.

I'm not sure about FordPass. I don't use it for finding chargers.

**added**
I've already dropped a webpage link icon on my phone next to my Tesla app with that webpage. I refer to it quite a bit.
Thanks for the tip to use the web site. I did and found that there are no magic dock chargers within 400 miles of me. There are plenty that are NACS adapter ready though. I just have to be patient and wait for my adapter to come in.

Nice writeup! I can see why the Tesla drivers are so worried about others using their SC network...those stations are so busy!!! ;)

I got my A2Z adapter yesterday...can't wait to try it out this weekend!

Because the adapter does not lock to your vehicle while charging, I am prepared for a stolen adapter incident while unattended charging is taking place.

So I got the A2Z as a "backup" to my upcoming complimentary Ford adapter just in case while on a road trip.
Good idea, but I will not be leaving mine unattended!

I'm moving my Mach-E to my new home in Portland, OR on May 10th, so a nice Dallas > Portland 2035 mile trip. It looks like there's enough EA coverage on my route but if one station is down I could be in a world of hurt.

I think I got my order in early enough for the NACS adapter from Ford to get to me, but I don't recall what their estimate was. Would it be worth just getting the A2ZEV adapter and selling the Ford official one (or vice versa) when it arrives?
That might be a bit difficult as both are backlogged.

I was actually initially going to stop at that one, but the one with 12 EA chargers worked pretty well and I didnā€™t have to wait.

Itā€™s kind of weird because youā€™d think itā€™s just a Tesla supercharger station but the EA chargers are right next to it. This one has a DQ beside it along with a decently sized gas station.

(Not my image below, but from PlugShare (you can also see the massive amount of Tesla superchargers behind it too))

I called it EV paradise when I first saw it because we have nothing like this in Colorado.
