I have 47 feet of brand new 6-3 wire left over from two charge station installations, my upgraded 48 amp and another at my daughter’s home. Purchased at Home Depot, Southwire 6-3 Stranded Romeo SIMpull CU NM-B W/G Wire, retail cost 6.73 per foot. Will sell for $4.99 per foot plus shipping. If you are going to install 60 amp breaker, this is what you need for that 48 amp service. Contact me at 678-643-3425 text or call.

I think 6/3 Romex is good for up to 55A circuit. You're installing it on a 60A circuit. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct. Technically out of the sheathing it's essentially THHN and would cover the full 60A. But it's not labeled and thus even against code that way. Romex 6/3 by code should only be used for a 50A circuit.

Incorrect, the certified electrician said it is used on service up to 60 amps.

I could paste the table out of the NEC here if I wasn't lazy. Any proper inspector would fail you for code non-compliance. Table 310.15(b)(16).

I should note that there IS an allowable exception, if your calculated pull from the target load doesn't exceed 55A. But it DOES, it's 60A de-rated to 48A do to the 3 hour or more nature. It's a murky area and perhaps your electrician mistakenly thought the 48A was what mattered. Regardless this should be "safe" in small runs but would fail any competent inspection.

Just sell it for a 50A circuit to limit YOUR liability. Done. GLWS!

I must have been mistaken, it is hardwired for 50 amp, which works with the 48 amp service for the WallBox. Sorry for the error. So, if anyone needs wire for their 48 amp charge station, I have about 50 feet available.
