I also agree with the build dates being shown as accurate and the cars sitting till the chips come in. This is what they did with the trucks in the US.

My dealer keeps insisting that my car arrives on August 25th but Ford says October 25th....

I heard from my dealer this morning that my Mach E was built last week (8/9/2021) and received the VIN number. The Ford website still shows it as having a build week of 8/9/2021 but not that it has been built. Just an FYI for others - seems they are still manufacturing by the date given and it’s a Chip wait now.

It’s the build week, so they have all week to get the giddy up going for you.

My reservation disappeared from Fords website. I can track it through vehicle visibility but seems like once you add the vehicle to your Ford Pass , it will remove it from fords MY RESERVATION section.

I also got the 6 week delay email on August 13 (Friday the 13th, by the way). My question is 6 weeks from when? The build date? The Ship date? The date of the email? In the Ford app, I had delivery dates from August 23, then it changed to between October 25-31, then it changed to a delivery of between N/A and N/A which is where it sits today. So Ford finally communicates and it just adds more confusion.

As I read it, a minimum of 6 weeks after the anticipated delivery date. In my case, there wasn’t an anticipated delivery date so it could be in 2029 for all I know.

That seems extremely unlikely to be the case for everyone who got the email, but may be the case for some subset of them, yes.

We are now perhaps days away from proving that the email was grossly misleading for hundreds of those who received it. If Mach-E GTs hit dealerships in the next week as it appears they will, we will then have that proof.

What that might mean for everyone who does not yet have a delivery date, a release date, a shipment date, a production date, or indeed even a VIN, we don't know. Same for those who do have delivery dates but who's status still sits at "In Production". Unknown delays for all these folks, but there's a chance that it will not be the additional six weeks people are assuming right now, at least for many of these cases.
