The bolts are tightened. Given the lack of urgency, I'm sure there is no immediate safety issue. It's just that they're not, quote, "tightened to Ford's requested spec", and it appears to be a part that arrived that way from another supplier.

Probably some subframe bolts tightened to like 150 ft-lbs instead of 160 ft-lbs.
Unless they were tightened to say......160 Inch-lbs vice 160 ft-lbs...........The glass is always half empty....."Well, I couldn't find my regular torque wrench so I just got another one. What did you expect me to do boss? Hold up the assembly line?"

I'm not convinced this is the reason for the exact delay right now. If it's not a major safety risk, couldn't the dealers handle bolts upon receiving them?

Subframe sounds super buried in the car, how much disassembly would it require to tighten? Worried....

Haha, well they came from the supplier. And if there was THAT much of a disparity, Ford wouldn't have this on such a back burner on the priority list (not beginning until March 22nd). I'm sure it's extremely minor and probably would never actually matter.

I took possession of my car on 2/26. I just got the recall notice today. I am one of the 75. Bummer. I just checked the NHTSA site and my VIN is listed.

Haven’t received the recall email and vehicle is currently “in transit“. Just arrived at the Muncie ramp in KS today. Does this mean that they will need to fix it before they can sell it to us? Build date was 2/9 and shipped 2/17. CRT 1 Model.

Yes, I believe that dealers can't legally sell a car with an active recall on it. I just checked my VIN and it shows that there is no recall on it. Mine was built on 1/19, so a few weeks before yours. But there are others with build dates earlier than mine that do seem to be on the recall list, so it must not be based purely on build date. Maybe different configurations use a different subframe part?

My VIN was included too! How long will that delay things now?
I wonder where they will do the work?
