For today’s DIY project at Murse-In-Airy’s garage and detail shop... ?
Decided to try my hand at headlight tint. My windows are already as dark as NY allows but the headlight laws are ambiguous. Watching a comparison video between untinted, light smoke tinted, and dark smoke tinted, any difference in light output seems very negligible. (Link below). So the black MME went a little further to the dark side today.

Link to comparison video from CKWraps. I watched a lot of this guy to learn to do the vinyl striping too:

I had to add the video so the safety police wouldn’t try to tell me I was an idiot for trying to kill people by dimming my lights and not having a fog horn play at each wheel rotation.

Only if you tint the tail lights.

Happy to report that, as the guy from CKWraps showed, there was no decrease in the lighting available this morning on the drive to work.

Dude, I love seeing all you're doing to the car. Keep up the posting!

My humble request - fire blasting out of the hitch.

Thank You. I think I’m done with mine. Wife’s car is next. Though I might try wrapping the rims in matte black as well. It

Might as well! Your car and colors are perfect for as much of a full blackout as possible. Looks great!

I like it! Is yours light smoke or dark smoke? I want to do the same to mine (when it gets here). I'm also considering the plastic spray for the wheels although I'll probably have that done professionally.

That’s the light smoke tint from VIVID. I am afraid dark smoke would offend the the police too much and put me at risk for being pulled over for obstructed headlights during the day. At night the difference is unnoticeable. But I’m happy with the light smoke.

I agree, I love black cars, but did not like how the MME looked in black. But these mods changed it. The car looks great.

Thank You. It’s certainly growing on me as I make it mine.

Unfortunately the person who made the video is probably not familiar with how cameras handle exposure. The camera was likely set to auto-exposure ... so when the car lights got dimmer it compensated by increasing the exposure and the net result looks the same.

For example... if you cut the light output in half, the camera will double the exposure to compensate and the resulting video would look the same.

Yeah, light meters aren't hard to come by if he wanted to make a more accurate comparison.

Well, even from his eyes, and now mine, the report was very little, if any, decrease in light output. So camera or not, I’m satisfied. ??
